Talk:Flared Nostrils
what's this do? i can't test right now because the test is completed, but could it be that it negates stench resistance? perhaps (maybe only if you don't have any) you actually take MORE damage from stench? this is worth checking out, especially because i believe it would be the first effect of its kind. --Goferchan 16:32, 4 July 2007 (CDT)
it seems to be doubling the amount of Stench damage I'm taking. The hippy infintrymen went from deal ~25 stench damage to ~50 stench damage. Ershatz 23:46, 4 July 2007 (CDT)
May have the same effect as the Easily Embarrassed effect gained from fighting against the frat army, only stench instead of sleazy. This would mean stench elemental resistance drops to none and stench damage is multiplied x2. More testing needed to confirm both Easily Embarrassed and Flared Nostrils. --Grampamoses 18:31, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
- This very much seems to be the case. I've got meager stench resistance, and I'm taking 1-2 damage per combat round from being covered in whatsit; while I had both that effect and Flared Nostrils, I was taking 6, every round. --Id the Mildly Confused 13:27, 19 July 2007 (CDT)
I'm noticing when I have this effect, and am fighting a Fire Spinner, I take absolutely *no* hot damage, when at all other times without the effect, I take ~40 hot damage in decreasing increments with each hit. Edited to add: I finally fought an Elite Fire Spinner and did indeed take hot damage :( --Snooty 06:43, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
Just had this affect and had a *huge* item drop on the affected turn. Might have just been the RNG, but it may let you 'sniff out' more loot.--Entwhistle 08:33, 18 July 2007 (CDT)
I was running with an Exotic Parrot, and my resists went from Meager Stench/Minor Sleaze to Minor Stench/Meager Sleaze. (The other resistances were unaltered.) Spading with higher Stench resistance seems to be indicated; it's possible that the effect can't lower a Loather's resistance past Minor.--Dornbeast 23:29, 2 September 2007 (CDT)
