Skill use message: Fey Frey fires a badly romantic arrow at your opponent. He roars an angry "RAAAH! RAAAH!" but it quickly turns into an "OOO LA LA!" He gazes at you, too stunned by your beauty to attack this round.

-The Kestrel

It definitely does - at the moment - affect volcanic island monsters( blue slimes, anyway.) How useful that is may be something else - the extra slime showed up many turns later when I was expecting to fight lumpy in the volcanic cave(startled, I reflexively nuked it, so I missed the new text), and the next one showed up many turns after that in the haunted bathroom. So while you can attract these monsters, there are probably far better targets. Having a slime or raver show up unexpectedly is probably just annoying, but an unexpected mama hellseal could be messy. --Noskilz 00:10, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Turn Count for stalkers

Used the badly romantic arrow on a faxed lobsterfrog man on turn 447. Two more lobsterfrogmen appeared turns 473 and 497. No more appeared on the same day up to turn 579. -The Kestrel

  • Fired on turn 2657. Monsters appeared on turns 2679 + 2698--Doucy 22:27, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
    • Initial guestimation based on these numbers, and that I got my targeted mer-kin 36 turns after using the skill on him, then 21 turns after that, is that it causes the monster to appear 2 times w/o quake, or 3 times w/, after 20-40 turns. My area of choice was Giant Castle, with 90% combat rate. I'm not sure if combats and non-combats are counted differently, though.--Arashmin 18:07, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
    • How often can you fire arrows? Also: Are you sure it's not chosen only when you're confirmed for a combat? Also also: is there a special message for stalkers? --Raijinili 07:49, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I suspect that combats from putty don't increment the 15-25 turn-counter, though I don't have hard data yet. --Kay Dekker 18:09, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

By my understanding they should. The mechanic seems to track your total turns spent, rather than decrementing some extra counter, so anything that burns a turn will bring you closer. (Puttying brickos, of course, would not do this.) --Starwed 02:14, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, I have data now – assuming that KoL's turncounter isn't fallible, which I think we can grant (I'm not using Mafia). I took a clod hopper out of a 4-d camera, puttied it and romantically arrowed it on turncounter=218. Five more turns of puttying and killing ensured. I've just killed the first clod hopper to come as a result of being arrowed, on turncounter=190. 218 - 190 = 28. 28 > 25. Something interesting is definitely going on :) --Kay Dekker 18:18, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
And again today. Clod hopper summoned from camera, puttied and arrowed on turncounter=220; five turns of puttying and killing; first clod hopper from arrowing arrived on turncounter=190. Apparently putty combats invoke combat.php directly instead of going through adventure.php, which may well be what's causing the counter not to be decremented. I'm pretty sure now that I'm not mistaken. --Kay Dekker 16:44, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Or I suppose that it's possible that our belief that the turn range is [15...25] may be erroneous. Though my figures for the turns between my first, second and third summoned hoppers do fall into that range, so I'm still suspecting the puttying as the culprit. --Kay Dekker 16:48, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Does the romanticized monster take an adventure to fight?--Arashmin 00:57, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
    • It's the same as if you encountered it, so yes, at least if not a BRICKO bat (and likely any other monster that doesn't normally take a turn but which you can putty). --Fig bucket 01:12, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Does anyone know, if i arrow a monster, but then don't adventure again untill rollover or run out of adventures before they show, will the monster still show up tomorrow?Funny snake 100 20:29, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

I believe it has been confirmed that they will not show up. The information is definitely in the initial forum thread about the angel. --Starwed 23:33, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Dirty Old Lihc

I fired a romantic arrow at a dirty old lihc (Niche monster) and then went to the other Cyrpt zones. Fighting the DOL in the Nook, it counts as untainting the Niche. This is not hugely surprising, but worth a mention. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 00:18, 19 January 2012 (CET)
