So, this is kind of a joke item memento, right? Because you'd have to use it every day for a year to collect about 300 per day...Zoro the Gallade (talk) 11:38, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

I may be wrong, I've been trying to remember basic algebra and BASIC programming, (rather unsuccessfully I might add, for the last I don't want to say how long.) but it looks like it'll take 49 days to equal the return on your investment. After that is should be profitable. Then again, I am tired, old, and haven't done any programming or math beyond figuring out a tip in years. --Skittius (talk) -Don't judge me on the language... BASIC was available in a Java environment, it's what I had on hand to use. Judge me if the math was bad. =) --Skittius (talk) 14:05, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

After n days, you will have collected n*(n+1)/2 meat total and spent 25*n meat. You break even at day 49, will have earned 100k after 473 uses, 1 million meat after 1439 uses (4 years), and 10 million meat after 4497 uses (12 years). --Tobias (talk) 14:30, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

For those truly dedicated, it should be theoretically possible to use this for 10-20 years, to eventually be able to use it on the first of the month for a free IOTM. And on the more realistic side of the spectrum, with this added to any breakfast script for a character it should eventually become free meat...unless it resets upon ascension. You cant argue with free meat. --Qbr12 (talk) 18:53, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

  • The data on the page already suggests that it does not reset on ascension. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:15, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks to all of you. But while I'm always grateful for other people doing my math for me, consider this: The maximum amount of meat you are able to shove into a tiny little piggy bank might be limited. While I doubt that anyone on the dev team would be particularly concerned about such comparatively small amounts of meat, it seems probable to me that they build in some kind of failsafe to prevent scenarios that make using this a better source of meat than farming for 400 Adventures. It still might be a notable source of meat for players that use it for like a decade straight, but I think they went more for flavor than for the make meat-aspect of this item. --Yatsufusa (talk) 15:27, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Do keep in mind that you would need to use it every day for 15 years to get as much free daily meat as you get from post-war hippies. Also, the progression is pretty easy to calculate in a spreadsheet:

Day Today's Profit Total Profit
1 =a2-25 =b2
=a2+1 =a3-25 =c2+b3
=a3+1 =a4-25 =c3+b4

Copy and paste into a spreadsheet (worked fine in Excel) and fill down the last row as far as you'd like. Deusnoctum (talk) 22:41, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

  • er, you just gain the meat and lose nothing. formula is (if a1 is the number of deposits): =A1*(A1+1)/2 --Evilkolbot (talk) 23:06, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
    • You're right. Thank you for pointing that out, because I though I misread the wiki page at first – because if I understand the use text right this is not what should happen.
"You drop 25 Meat into the bank. With a click and a roar, it compounds interest (4%!) and dispenses your dividends."
I sometimes think I don't know what words mean and I'm certainly bad at getting the money industry, but the text seems to suggest that it keeps the 25 meat and gives you the X meat. Or does it not? --Yatsufusa (talk) 20:08, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
      • that's how I read it, too. that's how banks work; they take your money then they (sometimes) give you back the interest. then I read the forums and checked it myself. I guess they coded it like that because. --Evilkolbot (talk) 20:47, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Uncle Crimbo's letter

Should the message that this came with not be shown on this article? Or am I missing something important?--Blargh (talk) 21:43, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Keeping in mind I made the super crimbo thingy page from last year's crimbo (I think?), that does not have the message on it either. The messages are kept on Uncle Crimbo's page. — Cool12309 (talk) 22:42, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
    • Oh, right, should have checked there first. And yes, the Super Crimboman Whatever is from last year.--Blargh (talk) 11:09, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
      • I know, I was questioning if I was the one who made it. Anyways, yea, kept on uncle crimbo's page. — Cool12309 (talk) 15:29, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
