In-battle effects. Stuns enemies, so it acts as a potato. Attacks with prismatic damage. Delevels enemies, perhaps like a barrrnacle.
After-battle effects: Smiles, Dances, heals you perhaps like a ghuol welp.--Toffile 06:00, 1 November 2011 (CET)
specific pants data:
time trousers - was able to equip at 6lb. (the minimum my familiars ever weigh due to passives); current weight 25lb and is XP-capped (no XP growth bar).
combat message on action: "Trousers fashioned of compressed time? A capital idea!" Grort exclaims. "Once you've accounted for the conversion rate, they're nearly as good as a pair I once owned entirely made of money. Made going to the casino a bit of a scandal, though, eh what?" He laughs heartily and claps your opponent on the back, knocking the wind out of it.
(appears to be a potato-like action block)
bonus effect: generates bonus adventures. 588 turns run, 18 bonus adventures generated (on turns 42, 48, 111, 134, 170, 185, 198, 257, 274, 295, 299, 310, 319, 322, 324, 372, 430, 574). Probably a simple 2.5-3% "drop" rate. --Techrat 06:03, 1 November 2011 (CET)
- Off-wiki spreadsheet in the case we start having more issues of the server not serving up the porper version while editing.--Toffile 06:40, 1 November 2011 (CET)
- I've simply been assuming that every time the wiki gives me the textarea for editing, it is old and must be refreshed. So, as soon as the "Editing Foo" page finishes loading and Firefox turns the red X (stop) into a grey-on-white arrow (reload), I hold Shift and click the reload arrow. This forces the wiki to give me a brand new copy of the page and its textarea, bypassing all caching. Unfortunately it also means all the images, etc. must also be re-downloaded. If that extra bandwidth utilization is an issue for the wiki admins, then I urge them to fix the caching issue so I can stop doing that. --Greycat 14:50, 30 November 2011 (CET)
Uncle Hobo's Gift-baggy pants: "Say, this reminds me of a rather amusing anecdote involving accidental nudity and a Crimbo pressie gone awry, back when I was a young lad at preparatory school," <name> says. You kick back and relax as he tells you the story. Ghuol whelp effect. --Sparksol (t|c) 06:46, 1 November 2011 (CET)
6 lb with biomechanical crimborg leg armor Ton snorts derisively at him. "Resistance is useless, old chap," he says. "Then again, so is everything else about you, I have no doubt." He looks a little demoralized. Monster Attack Monster attack power reduced by 3 Monster Defense Monster defense reduced by 3
After combat: Ton sings you a festive Crimbo carol about the rich king who looks out the window and sees a guy stealing his firewood, and has that guy arrested and sent to prison. Well, at least you got a chance to rest a little. You gain 15 hit points. You gain 14 Muscularity Points. --Gramphos 06:55, 1 November 2011 (CET)
10lb with necbromancer shorts "These cargo short pants remind me of the heady days when I was a member of the secret society at my preparatory school!" Boss says, then whips out a paddle and smacks them for 31 (+1) (+1) (+1) (+1) (+1) (+1) damage.
after combat: "I do fondly remember the hazing rituals we put the pledges through at the preparatory academy," Boss says. You relax as he regales you with stories of booze, humiliation, and buggery. You gain 27 hit points. You gain 29 Mana Points. --newkidd
Greatest American Pants: (8lb, volleychaun?) Pantsless says, "I do believe you mean 'Greatest Colonial Pants,' and I believe you mean 'trousers,' not 'pants,'" and then tips you a wink and a smile so you know he's joking.
"These trousers have awakened my old empirical bloodlust!" Donglord shouts. "I think I'll plant a flag in that ruffian over there and claim him for the Mother Country!" Your opponent looks startled and dismayed at the prospect. (21 lbs, reduced 26 atk/def; 22lbs, reduced 27 atk/def - Fam weight + 5?)--Noodlius 12:47, 1 November 2011 (MST)
Liar's Pants: (against knob goblin scientists, have sympathy permed) 8lb: "I must say I'm perplexed that these trousers haven't vanished in a puff of steam by now! But since they're still here, might as well make the most of them," Pantsless says, kicking him for 1 (+1) (+19) (+12) (+1) (+1) (+1) damage. 9lb damages: 1 (+1) (+19) (+13) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+14) (+22) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+13) (+21) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+13) (+17) (+1) (+1) (+1) 10lb damages: 1 (+1) (+17) (+17) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+15) (+20) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+25) (+19) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+15) (+16) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+20) (+23) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+23) (+18) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+20) (+25) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+23) (+25) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+25) (+24) (+1) (+1) (+1) 11lb damages: 1 (+1) (+20) (+16) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+27) (+18) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+27) (+23) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+22) (+22) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+25) (+17) (+1) (+1) (+1) 1 (+1) (+26) (+24) (+1) (+1) (+1) --Muluk 12:04, 1 November 2011 (CET)
|Fancypants Scarecrow Pants Messages|
I've been working on pinning down numbers for volley and leprecaun - as the chart is right there, I've been adding my numbers directly into the page instead of a separate spading spreadsheet. Leprechaun work was done on Knott Yetis, formula tested first on my actual leprechaun. Uncertain numbers were prefaced by ~, and someone had mistakenly labeled the eelskin pants as having a lep effect, so I put a "no" there so that it's clear. Previously spaded numbers were left alone due to time constraints.
Volleyball spading was done in the pantry, taking into account the stat day today. Convolutions of stat day, the 2:1:1 balancing of stats and the +10% stat gains from moon sign left my formula a little imprecise - where there was uncertainty I prefaced numbers with a ~. Again, I left previously spaded numbers alone - I did not double-check them. OF NOTE: Pin-stripe slacks clearly give a smile message, but do NOT give any noticeable stat effect against ML 1 monsters. Presumably they are a sombrero type? Alternately it could be a bug in the game code, or a mistake to have them smiling. --Bladeyeoman 16:06, 3 November 2011 (CET) Well shit. May have screwed the pooch on this one. Looks like at least one, possibly more of the lep multipliers are bad. Brings into question essentially all lep data and also possibly volley data. Sorry about that. I think I'll be dropping to casual to test stuff and try to clean this up. Sorry guys.--Bladeyeoman 22:24, 4 November 2011 (CET) UPDATE: Looks like my formula for the lep was actually correct. Have not yet dropped into casual, so I haven't checked to see if the values on the wiki are correct, but it would appear that the mistake on bricko pants may have been an isolated incident. Will check volley formula forthwith.--Bladeyeoman 22:54, 4 November 2011 (CET)
So I just tried to spade pinstripe slacks and I am getting around 5x sombrero and that seems a bit too good to me. --Stumpsmcgee 16:32, 7 November 2011 (CET)
- I've been wondering the same thing about the boxer shorts and the 6.0 volley. Even though its max is 5 weight, the formula makes the returns seem higher than some of the higher-power pants (not including the no-cap ones). Still, if it turns out to be a mistake I'm just happy to have it while it lasts. :) --DarkAxz 08:12, 8 November 2011 (CET)
- On a similar note, it appears that the boxer shorts also do some "invisible" damage. I've been pumping +ML and wasn't able to hit monsters in the Middle Pyramid, but after several turns of my missing and the scarecrow studding them, they died. It appeared to be a normal death because the drops and end-of-combat messages were normal. --DarkAxz 20:55, 8 November 2011 (CET)
in double-ice britches
in double-ice britches @ max weight fancypants scarecrow does 35-49 cold +1 prismatic damage. --VainBloodheart 07:10, 10 November 2011 (CET)
I am gathering data for Potato multiplier rates at Fancypants Potato Spading. The spreadsheet is read-only right now so it can be used to verify my sources. --Tatsuling 23:25, 23 November 2011 (CET)
Reduces Attack and Defense by 25 @ 25lb and does it 100% of the time. It also deals 26-37 Normal damage and 1 prismatic at 25lb, about 40%-60% of the time. I did 10 turns, it attacked 4 times, did 10 more it attacked 6 times, 10 more 6 times. --Zionico 20:44, 12 December 2011 (CET)
When the table says "4.0 Volleyball" does this mean that the scarecrow acts as a 4lb volleyball, or that it acts as a 4*wt lb volleyball, or what?--Yiab 19:19, 5 January 2012 (CET)
- My reading, and this usage is also found in the Mad Hatrack page, is that <4.0 Volleyball> means that the familiar will act like a 4*wt lb volleyball. There is a separate weight cap on both of these, so even though the barskin loincloth will make this act like a 4*wt lb volleyball, the familiar is capped at 6lbs, so it will never be better than a real volleyball of 24lbs. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:42, 5 January 2012 (CET)
Apparently, the scarecrow increases pants drops if it's not wearing any pants at the moment. This has yet to be confirmed by spading. --Octagon8 16:24, 29 January 2012 (CET)
Bug with Familiar Equipment
I noticed a while ago that, if you equip your scarecrow with tiny fly glasses, then the scarecrow doesn't gain any additional fam XP per fight. This hasn't been fixed yet.
I'm wondering: does this also apply with other familiar equipment? For example, do the wax lips give +stats? If not, then we should include it on the page. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 02:37, 12 October 2012 (CEST)
Warbear Dress pants, weight cap is 25, and at that weight he delevels at the beginning of combat by 25 points.
servo-assisted exo-pants - 12 pound max, volleyball I think (+4-5 stats at that level against scaling monsters) and maybe potato, but the during combat messages are missing. (It just shows "%%".) --Emtu (talk) 06:07, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
