This can drop two shark teeth in one combat - only happened once though, so wicked rare. --Denarius 07:04, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

hitpoints range first approximation 588 - 604. i suggest 600 --Hrag 11:15, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

I just fought a few sharks with fishbreath and I had both a dull fishcale and a shark jumper drop. --Kekeke 21:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Statistics

I'm pre-empting Yiab on this one, having collected item drop data myself. I collected over 7 different item drop bonuses, some of them with wallaby characters using a fairy. This was taken into account when I performed my statistical analysis of the data. Those item drop rates that included a wallaby fairy have a "w:X" attached to them, where X is the default weight of the fairy. For the teeth, "1 tooth" means exactly one tooth dropped; "2 teeth" means exactly 2 teeth dropped. The statics aren't terribly conclusive on the tooth drop rates right now (they don't even admit a valid solution of drop rates), but the 1% and 2% drop rates I put on the wiki yield predictions pretty close to what I've observed so far. --Flargen 01:38, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I'll clarify that last bit about the teeth. At rates of 2% and 1%, the predicted rate of seeing 1 tooth is 2.96%, and the rate for 2 teeth would be .02%. The values I have currently observed are 3.08% and .025%, respectively. The standard errors on the observations are large relative to these rates, though, especially the 2 tooth drop rate. I'm still working out the kinks in ways of getting these teeth rates narrowed down more. --Flargen 01:46, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Added some new data obtained while determining the drop rate on the eel sauce. There is now enough data to definitively conclude that the only pair of integer-valued drop rates (in percent) for the shark teeth is (2,1). There was actually enough data before, I just hadn't gone through the trouble of working out the correct equations to deal with all of the +items (wallaby or not). But now I have. The "(wh: 41)" bit means that the item drop value was obtained by a character using a 41 pound hound dog under the wallaby sign; the effect of wallaby was accounted for in my analysis. --Flargen 11:12, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
