Talk:Deadly Lampblade

Effect gained from using a Deadly Lampshade (20 turns).

On hit, you get:

Your opponent is poisoned by the attack...

Your opponent writhes as he takes 59 damage from the poison. --Ernier 06:20, 18 June 2008 (CDT) ernier

It also seems to add 75 spooky damage to the attack. Against the normal hobos, my attacks before using the lampshade lacked any spooky damage. After use, I did 75 additional spooky damage. I didn't have any other effects or equipment that would have added spooky damage. --Jokermage 10:53, 18 June 2008 (CDT)

Each successful hit seems to double the amount of damage done by the poisoning. If you do a different combat action, it seems to halve the damage taken from the poison each round. So I did one attack, did 31 poison damage that round, then disco eye-poked each following round and did 15, 7 and 3 points of poison damage before the monster died.--Keith 23:54, 29 June 2008 (CDT)

Doesn't double each round. I suspect it adds half the damage from the previous round whether you hit or not, and adds additional damage if you do hit. I'm not sure yet of the formula for the damage your melee attack adds to the poisoning.--Keith 00:00, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

I assume the poisoning works the same as with the scorpion whip, meaning that it adds 20-25% of your physical damage as poison damage, and poisoning stacks.--GoldS 02:05, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

I'll add the poison notes from the scorpion whip, and if it's proved to be wrong, then someone can change it. Easy enough. --Tom93 06:31, 5 July 2008 (CDT)

  • That's kind of a backwards way of doing things. If the effect is posted as fact on the article space, people will tend to think it's proven and not pay attention to what's happening in combat. --Bagatelle 11:21, 5 July 2008 (CDT)

Here's a little bit of data versus Hodgman...

Round 1: LTS for 2061, poison damage was 744. (Now not physically hitting, using favours)
Round 2: 538
Round 3: 286
Round 4: 143
Round 5: 72
Round 6: 36

So, looks like poison damage roughly halves each round, except, possibly the first time.

Round 1: LTS for 2090, poison 820
Round 2: LTS for 2089, poison 947
Round 3: LTS for 2089, poison 978
Round 4: LTS for 2090, poison 999
Round 5: LTS for 2113 (crit), poison 1052
Round 6: LTS for 2097, poison 1090

I'd say this looks pretty similar to the scorpion whip effect. --Bigcalm 05:17, 15 July 2008 (CDT)

There is some other thing with this I belive; I was fighting in hobopolis, after a bos, fight, and then I realized while the effect turns decreased, so did the poison damage. The damage went down from 309 to 29 in 19 adventures; this should be investigated----cowwart
