Ok, I've made a start but don't have time to finish today. Is this worth doing? Am I the only one looking for info in this way? Anthem13 01:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

I would definitely like to see this completed. I've already started filling in what I've already discovered.--Adamwest519 19:37, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Uh, how is this content any different than what is already at cooking? --BagatelleT/C 21:24, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
  • I'd say the main difference is that it's grouped the same way Cooking discoveries are, and with that in mind, said updates would probably be best applied directly to the Cooking page rather than to this new page (which technically doesn't entirely fit because it doesn't include all foods). --Quietust (t|c) 23:30, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I would end to agree. I think Cooking's also kind of sad, as it's a misnomer at's really a listing of most food and not just cooking.--Toffile 23:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Hmm, so what's the consensus? This seems to me to be a very different page than cooking... it's like the difference between Familiars and Familiars by availability. I can delete the page if the mods deem it best, but it seems like it's fulfilling a very different function than the old cooking page. Anthem13 00:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Perhaps a rename? Something like "Discoveries: Cooking" or "Cooking Discoveries" perhaps? -Sparksol (t|c) 01:34, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
      • Yeah, that's exactly what we should do. How do I change the name? Anthem13 01:56, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
        • No idea. I understand it takes an admin to do that kind of thing, more or less. Alternatives are copying the whole page and deleting this one, or making a redirect. I'd suggest asking an admin about it, personally. --Sparksol (t|c) 02:44, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
          • I suggest you look at the upper right corner of your wiki window and think hard. And then look at "Move". Deleting is something you need an admin for, not a "name change"/move. Anyone can move, though it certainly shouldn't be done carelessly. There will be something left that will eventually need deleting, of course. When you believe a page should be deleted, you can post it on TheKolWiki:Pages for deletion. I'm not sure the page is warranted either way, but there you go. --Flargen 02:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
      • The page has now been renamed to "Discoveries: Foods" - was this really the best name, considering that you don't actually discover foods but cooking recipes? Also, what about meatpaste, cocktailcrafting, and meatsmithing discoveries? --Quietust (t|c) 21:19, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
        • Actually, the Meat Pasting page has a similar list already, minus the pictures. Should the recipe lists be set up on the pages themselves, or separately like this one? I've got some lists set up already here, it's just a matter of copying things over and editing it slightly.--Sparksol (t|c) 06:03, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Discoveries category?

Well, I made a few other pages for the discoveries lists. Should there be a Discovery category, or a disambiguation page? --Sparksol (t|c) 02:27, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

There is a new category called Confections that didn't show up in the wiki pages, containing some items from the Miscellaneous category. I created the new category and moved the items I had, but since I don't have every single recipes there may be other items that go under "Confections" that I haven't discovered yet. Ingredient orderings

OK, so I'm anal, but I noticed that some of the recipes in just about every section were out of logical order. There had obviously been an attempt at some time to list ingredients in a coherent way, but that had either not been completed or people hadn't spotted the structure when adding new recipes.

So I've done the "be bold" thing, and rearranged. Now, wherever I can make it sensible, ingredients are listed with the major ingredient first, with the minor ingredient (if any) second. Thus, for example, all the noodle dishes are now listed with dry noodles given first, and the added ingredient second.

I've tried to make this as consistent as I can. There are some ragbag categories where there's not much clarity to be gained in this way, so there I've left things alone.

If people don't like the idea, feel free to revert. My ego can take it :) --Kay Dekker 00:39, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

  • It looks fine. It's mostly the game's fault for having the discoveries and their ingredients in weird and inconsistent orders (look at the in-game ingredient orders). --RoyalTonberry 00:45, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
    • It's not weird or inconsistent. The game bases ordering on item id.--Toffile 00:54, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
      • Which is the most logical ordering of them all. Given that, and how the wiki goes to great lengths to reproduce content faithfully, it stays as it is. --Flargen 01:00, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
        • My apologies - I hadn't thought to look at item ids. --Kay Dekker 03:05, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Brown vials

I'm still haven't quite got enough potions to make them all, so I'm unsure of how the ordering should go. If there are any minor ordering errors based on what's listed now, please don't hesistate to fix. I probably made a mistake somewhere.--Toffile 21:38, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

New Recipes

I can not believe I am the only one to have these, so I did not add it to the main page thinking there may be a reason.

I have spagecialetti (dry noodles + Special™ Sauce) as found on my Noodle Dishes section, so that is one more than on this page. That also means that Special™ Sauce (scrumptious reagent + pink slime) goes down with the Secret Sauces.

Also with Secret Sauces should be: Devil's Elbow Hot Sauce (scrumptious reagent + hot wing)

I would like to gather the rest of them before making any changes just in case, as usual w/ my editing, I am wrong or doing something wrong. --Hallehoopma (talk) 20:33, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
