Talk:Class Act II: A Class For Pigs

the name is probably a reff to amnesia 2: a machine for pigs, imo --Ganomex (talk) 04:07, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

It'll almost certainly be a reference to the Siter Act movies as well. The second one was called Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. --Remnant (talk) 22:54, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

  • nuns, no sisters, no habits. How does that work then? --Fig bucket (talk) 23:00, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

You don't think the titles can be a reference? I reckon yo uare over analysing it. Sister Act followed by, Sister Act II: [subtitle]. Class Act, followed by Class Act II: [subtitle]. you are suggesting any reference needs to be context sensitive. How about context of the actual title reference. Maybe it's just me, but to be honest I thought the reference was really obvious... *shrug* --Remnant (talk) 01:36, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

  • A reference to sister act II based on matching "*X Act-II: X*" seems like it would require a nun or sister in it somewhere to be obvious, whereas "*[II]:*for pigs" is a more unusual pattern...a judgement call, preponderance of evidence etc, and the pigs reference is not completely unambiguous either, but the nuns reference is an order of magnitude weaker than that even...feel free to ask on the radio show---TBTB love references. --Fig bucket (talk) 02:13, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
    • I don't like unobvious refs, but I'm going to side with Remnant on this one. TPTB just used a Sister Act 2 ref in a new Disco Bandit skill: Disco Dance 3: Back in the Habit, so I believe that formation was fresh in mind. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:10, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
      • I would agree with Fig bucket. "For Pigs" just screams Amnesia to me, since it's #2, and nothing there points to Sister Act. --timrem (talk) 05:36, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
        • There is no way that Class Act is a Sister Act reference, and adding an unecessary subtitle to a sequel's name is a very common trope that is not exclusive to Sister Act 2 (which only has a subtitle because it is also playing on the same trope). Calling someone a class act is a very old saying which is the obvious reference to calling the path Class Act.--Melon (talk) 06:49, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
          • It is obviously a reference to the movie, Babe 2: Pig in the City. I mean look, it even has pig in the title!... No, wait. It really is just an Amnesia reference. Moving on. --Darkwolf (talk) 07:14, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Bad References and You

Over the past few months, I've found myself growing more and more embarassed by the clearly incorrect references people put up on this wiki. The worst, perhaps, was when someone tried to claim the Kruegerrand phrase was a reference to a They Might Be Giants song and not to Freddy Krueger. It is really, really obvious that "Class Act II: A Class For Pigs" is not a reference t "Sister Act II: Back In The Habit." I mean, really. That's a stupid argument some of you are making -- bar "X II: Subtitle" they have NOTHING in common. By the same logic, it's a reference to Jurassic Park II: The Lost World. Please don't suggest bad references. Use Common Sense. --Cannonfire40 (talk) 08:04, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Hilarious, thanks. You make a great point, shame you missed the point. I'm pretty sure this is a discussion page, where people put up points for discussion. It's pretty easy to disagree without suggesting it's a bad reference, not common sense, and clearly a waste of your precious time. :) Just take a deep breath and move on dude. I wasn't the only one who thought there was merit in this being a legitimate possible reference, and there are plenty of pages on this wiki where a number of possible references are quoted. I was contributing to the discussion honestly, with SENSIBLE intent (regardless of what you think) and i'm comfortable with that contribution. I'm also comfortable when people disagree. it's a discussion. Maybe leave the 'common sense' and 'bad reference' comments at the door though dude. It's just a wiki, and just a discussion... Peace.--Remnant (talk) 10:41, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

OK, so, you restarted a discussion that hadn't been touched in over a week, demanding that the other guy "move on". This is trolling, right? --Vorzer (talk) 22:40, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

classy monkey

Can the classy monkey be used during Class Act II, as it could in its predecessor? Also, will Summon Geeky Gifts summon the classy monkeys on this special challenge path?--Mike Antleg III (talk) 19:39, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Since they can't be summoned, I would say that it would be rather unlikely that they could be used. Also would be unfair to players that didn't get the skillbook back then. --Yatsufusa (talk) 20:29, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

ML and enemy damage resistance

I'm male and wearing stylish swimsuit (+10 sleaze). At 45 ML, its bonus is doing +8. That's only 20% resistance. If I fight a hot monster, it does +16, still 20% resistance.

I raised my ML to 50, and I'm still getting +16 vs hot.

Does the resistance apply less to elemental damage than physical? --Hastifer (talk) 15:45, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
