Speculation and Guesswork

So.. it's a spade, with an unknown enchantment.. Get cracking, folks! Someone should probably check to make sure that its '+???' isn't the same as the jacket's... --AltyMcAltAlt 09:56, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Doesn't have any effect on meat drops, so it can't be the same as the spade jacket. --Jasonharper 14:18, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
    • Doesn't have any effect on meat drops today... Tomorrow? Day after? Maybe after you ascend three times? --Terry 21:17, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
  • Jasonharper: are you actually familiar with what the jacket does? Colonel Mustard's Lonely Spades Club Jacket read the page and the talk page. And that's not the serious spading work. Five different effects at five trivially small levels. This one has the same enchantment description, so I think we're dealing with the same sort of mystery. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:33, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
    • Yes, I am familiar with its effects - including a +1-3% meat boost. It's trivially testable that the can-you-dig-it? has no meat boost, therefore its "+???" enchantment doesn't mean exactly the same thing as the jacket's "+???". "The same sort of mystery" is quite possible, but that wasn't the question I was answering. --Jasonharper 13:18, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
  • What if the last hit message is the enchantment: and do X damage, saving yourself an average of .5 adventures per run. (+1 Adventure (.5) after every second flee (per run)) --DarkArcherPrince 04:39, 8 August 2011 (CEST)

When I think of "can you dig it" the first thing that comes to my mind is Cyrus' big speech in The Warriors. Everything here seems to be a music ref, so I'm not comfortable adding that in without some confirmation. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:33, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

  • I know of a famous song that uses the phrase and predates that movie by 8 years.--Toffile 05:55, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
    • Personally, I think of the PWEI song that uses samples/etc from the big speech. :) -- sulfur 11:07, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

General Talk

Unsurprisingly, it pulverizes into twinkly powder - but now I know for shure. --Yatsufusa 04:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Also, unsurprisingly, it can dig up Fernswarthy's grave. Hooray! --Spinachguy (talk) 12:44, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

Actually, scratch that. It'd be an interesting experiment, though. --Spinachguy (talk) 23:58, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
