Talk:Bulky Buddy Box (familiar)
Pet rock 2.0?
Someone in chat said his Box talked to him (and was immediately banned). Any truth to that? --DuckAndCower 00:28, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Mine talked to me in chat. I lost the exact words, but it showed up in blue text in the chat window and said "(name) whispers to you:" Others in chat with me also had their box whisper to them.--TheMadBombchu 00:33, 13 December 2007 (CST)
I haven't had a chance to use it yet... but if those quotes on the front page are right... aren't the last three lines that C'thun (A raid boss in World of Warcraft) whispers to you while your in his instance? (Your firends will betray you, your heart will explode ect.) I was kinda hoping all the quotes would be more portal themed. Or involve stabbing and euthinize. --Darkwolf 15:51, 13 December 2007 (CST)
I was wondering.. does the talking work if you're using tabbed chat? if so what channel would it talk on? it seems as though my box started talking when i turned off tabbed chat. --Hexidimentional 11:33, 14 December 2007 (EST)
If you use quotes, it says " 'n' quote;" is this true for all of them? --MrGuy 13:37, 14 December 2007 (CST)
Familiar Equipment
I can't confirm both of them but I know that the pet rock "snooty" disguise works for this familiar. --Chunky_boo 00:51, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Why does the familiar equipment list the pet rock "Groucho" disguise twice, with the second one actually leading to the pet rock "Snooty" disguise page? (and then after that, the Snooty disguise is listed again!) The pet rock and toothsome rock pages both do this too. Why?? Jihiro 09:56, 13 December 2007 (CST)
- It's to do with the template code which formats familiars. At some point it was changed to do something a bit fancy, but this breaks w/ familiars with multiple pieces of special equipment. --Starwed 16:27, 13 December 2007 (CST)
- Aha! That would explain it =) Thank you for fixing it, templates really confuse me. Jihiro 14:14, 16 December 2007 (CST)
Weight Based?
So, I've been chatting in chat for the last two days for at least an hour, but my Bulky Buddy Box didn't whisper to me at all (And yes, it is my active familiar). So, I was wondering: Is is possible that the chances for this familiar speaking could be weight-based?
My BBB is at 6 pounds with Empathy, BTW.--Penguin Overlord 17:05, 18 December 2007 (CST)
- I think you have to be adventuring with it. Not sure, but I think the few times I've seen my 3Bs whisper was when they gained a pound.--Bonkbonk 13:50, 7 January 2008 (CST)
It's not completely useless
I was messing around with some of my familiar equipment and found I could put my ant sickle and oversized fish scaler on my BBB and it'll attack for me. Should this be put into the article? Kowon 13:32, 12 February 2008 (CST)
- That's how those items normally work. The only thing they don't equip on is the Comma Chameleon. I don't think "giving a familiar equipment slot" really counts as a use, since every familiar (excepting the chameleon) has that ability inherently. --Flargen 13:37, 12 February 2008 (CST)
- The article should mention it's use as a pvp familiar though. With the pet rock familiar equipment it ties with the rock and toothsome rock, weighing more than any other familiars, apart from the exotic parrot and doppelshifter. --Darkcodelagsniper 06:34, 4 September 2008 (CDT)
Name Changing
Attempting to call a BBB "<3" results in it being renamed to "No Name McGee". --Jabbykins 07:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- That happens with any familiar. Any familiar with "<" in their name will be renamed to "No Name McGee" (to make sure it's impossible to put HTML into a familiar's name). --Mud Man 09:43, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- I was able to name mine "< 3", however. Which shows up normally in most places, but as "'n'lt; 3" in the terrarium. --Jabbykins 23:54, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
