With the ice all over the floor, I saw these two messages during combat:

Your opponent slips on one of the ice cubes on the floor and falls ass-over-teakettle.

and

You slip on one of the ice cubes on the floor, and it leaves you wobbling to and fro.

With the lanterns ablaze:

A flaming paper lantern falls from the ceiling onto her head, dealing 24 damage and making her look very, very silly.

and this, which dealt 1 hot damage to me:

A flaming paper lantern falls from the ceiling onto your head. For a moment, you can only see fire. Then you can see fire and pain. Then the lantern burns away and you can only see pain.

and at the end of combat, with an unnamed cocktail in my inventory:

A bit of flaming paper drifts into your unnamed cocktail and sets it ablaze. Whoah!

You acquire an item: Flamin' Whatshisname

For both the ice and the lanterns, I never got hit by the effect in the same round that the monster did--either I slipped on the ice or it did; either I got hit by a flaming lantern or it did. --Southwest (talk) 20:44, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

With the gong rolling around, I never got hit by the spray of gunfire at the beginning of combats. Instead, I saw this message:

You manage to maneuver behind the massive rolling gong and avoid getting caught in the perpetual hail of bullets.
