Skill Trees

This image was posted in chat for the skill paths: --Klungar 04:31, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Can anyone confirm a cap on skill points? i.e. For the Boris runs, you wouldn't get additional skill points to learn skills after level 15. Is the same true here?--Elbie (talk) 15:55, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Just confirmed that no, this is not the case. At level 16, I was granted an additional skill point. Don't know if this would let me get all 32 skills on the first run or not. (ie. how high does this go?)--Elbie (talk) 14:14, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

  • I've gotten all the skills now, but not my first ascension as Jarlsberg. But neither did I have a lot of points to spend. It took me to level 29 to get them all. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 03:08, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

It's ten each by default both of which can be increased from skill trees. --Chunky_boo 05:28, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Just in case anyone was curious, you can drink a Steel Margarita "Jarlsberg's spirit won't let you drink this thing, but you outsmart it -- you hold the margarita against your forehead and absorb its essence directly into your brain. Take that, germophobe! You acquire a skill: Liver of Steel You gain 5 Drunkenness." --Noskilz (talk) 23:07, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Apparently already added: steel margarita --Raijinili (talk) 23:22, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

I found a dead pastamancer in the tavern. --Ermidor 13:07, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

As did I. But I also started with 2 Moxie and 1 Muscle, so I don't know what that says.--Blargh (talk) 14:11, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Spookyraven Manor

When looking under the mahogany nightstand, I got the message "Through Lord Spookyraven's glasses, you notice a strange green glow through the cracks in the floorboards. You move the nightstand out of the way and pull up a couple of the boards. Something's hidden under here! Just kidding. There wasn't anything hidden under there after all." I got nothing.

Class Features

I can confirm Jarlsberg gets the +5% bonus to elemental resistance, like Saucerors and Pastamancers do. --Greycat (talk) 16:44, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Spell damage

Added a note about How -mp effects lower Spel Damage as per this forum thread

Not sure if is in thew right area though --Freman (talk) 23:39, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

It's a decent spot, but I added another note higher up in the page since it is divergent with how spells traditionally work. Also I can't wait for the next Festival of Jarlsberg.--Toffile (talk) 11:39, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

+mp effects also alter the damage cap of spells. The Amulet of Yendor has a use! --Njord (talk) 21:32, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Getting to the black market

A Man in Black gave me the map, as usual, but since I can't equip the reassembled blackbird I'm not sure what to do with it. Thoughts? -Captain Video (talk) 00:45, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Tour Guide Companions

Has anyone figured out if the Jarlsberg companions count for tour guide? I've already got the tour guide trophies, so it can't help me. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:28, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm going to hazard a no, since 1> No Fam runs don't count anymore, and 2> Clancy doesn't count. I'm not 100%, but I would make a hefty bet that it doesn't. ~Erich t/c 23:22, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Astral Food

Has anyone tried eating astral hot dogs or drinking astral pilsners? Astral energy drinks are totally drinkable. --Daaaaang (talk) 21:59, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

  • Astral Energy Drinks are neither food nor booze, so no, the other consumables don't work. ~Erich t/c 23:22, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Usually, trying to consume non-Cosmic food/booze gives the message about Jarlsberg not trusting it. But now, the use button is striked, and trying to click anyway makes a pop up window with the message "You can't use that right now. Because of reasons." Does anyone else experience the same? --Blargh (talk) 20:39, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I see that on the webpage. If I use remote forms, I get the old "Jarlsberg didn't trust any booze that he didn't make himself" message. The "Because of reasons" message is a generic item-crossed-out javascript pop-up ("no8()" in the source). It looks like it is the fall-back pop-up when there isn't a more specific one: no2() is for lack of torso awaregness, no3() for can't use in hardcore, etc. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:54, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Checking further, I see the microbrewery has a slightly different message:

Jarlsberg didn't trust any food or booze that he didn't make himself.

Hobo marketplace booze message:

No way. No way you're drinking that.

Hobo marketplace food message:

No way. No way you're eating that.

I can't get into Chez Snootée to check that now. I'm guessing the message is the same as the brewery. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:03, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
