Talk:Around the World Quest
Woohoo I made my very first page! And its a quest!! Constructive criticism is welcome =) Jihiro 15:16, 2 February 2007 (CST)
Just got a Spanish Fly from a Vegan Chef. You mentioned that this wasn't the case- is this inaccurate, or have I missed something?
--Yes, I did. I got one from a crusty but the article says filthy. Stil, the comment on that section has fallen down on its face.

I just spent a bunch adventures catching flies and I got one from every kind of hippy (including all three brands of Vegan chef) at least 10 times. Think that note needs to be removed. (It could be possible that it was true at some point and then got fixed, or maybe it never was true) --DarkerLine 16:03, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Set drop rate to 25%. At +313% item drop, I got 80/80 flies. Also at +248% item drop, got 206/255 flies. This is right about 25%. Data here:http://kolspading.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55--Top1214 21:03, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
NS 13
I think the quest changed after NS 13 & the new trophy - I spent 30 adventures on my main, another 40 adventures on my multi and couldnt find the adventure that kicks this off. Tried wearing the fratboy outfit after that, but got drunk too quick--Grimdel 18:41, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I tried to do the quest after completing the level 12 quest. I got the fly trap, but adventuring with it in the hippy camp bombed back to the stone age gave me no flies, even after 30 adventures. --Panne 06:54, 30 June 2007 (CDT)
Odd - I got tired of trying to get the initial orc quest, finished the level 12 quest (hippies won), and when I went to the pirates to see what changed, I got the flytrap w/o the initial Orcish Frat House adventure. Im willing to bet the bombed out orcs wont give me the drinks if I have the flies. Maybe you have to finish this quest before the level 12 quest? And maybe you dont need to see the orcs first - the pirates just give you the trap? --Grimdel 13:59, 30 June 2007 (CDT)
On the front page, it's mentioned that you can receive the quest, but might not fullfill it if the hippy's are bombed back to the stone age. Has anyone spaded the other end - can you redeem flies if the orcs lose? --Grimdel 01:44, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
I just spent 15 adventures walking around the bombed out frat house w/ 5 flies and +10% non-combat buffs & the song buff from spookyraven - no adventure to trade flies for drinks - I think its safe to say that once the level 12 quest is over, the this quest is also over till the next ascension. --Grimdel 01:59, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
Can you get flies from the wartime hippies? --Terry 02:26, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
I have successfully gotten the quest and completed the quest AFTER completing the Mysterious Island Quest. I beat the quest loooong ago, and got a Lv30 trophy, and only after that did the Around The World quest. So it's possible. The problem that I'm running into now is that I think it can only be done once per ascension. I am shooting for the Phineas Foggy trophy. I spent two days farming with something like +200% item drops, got enough flies to exchange for 46 Around The Worlds yesterday. Now today I'm going for it again, and I can't get any flies, and I can't seem to get the quest again from the Orcish Frat House (Bombed Back To The Stone Age). Anyone else find the same thing?

Wouldn't it be ideally not possible to do this quest DURING the level twelve quest, as you don't have access to either side's camp, which is converted to a shop/final battle area?--Argus 02:57, 18 August 2007 (CDT)
Could it be possible to do this quest during the level 12 quest, but before the war starts? Until the adventure that expands the island map, both the hippy and frat areas are accessible for adventuring.--Xclockwatcher 02:29, 15 October 2007 (CDT)
- Yes, but they've got a completely different set of adventures. So far as I know, there's no way of getting Around the Worlds after starting the Island quest. --TechSmurf 02:35, 15 October 2007 (CDT)
Well, I got the Around the World out of it for redeeming 5 flies, but nothing shows up on my quest log. I don't think I've started the mystery island quest. Ariaflame 00:59, 21 February 2008 (CST)
Question: I have beat up a bunch of hippies, obtained 18 Spanish flies, but when I go to the Orcish Frat House (Bombed Back To The Stone Age), I do not meet the Chieftain of the Flies. Instead, I have to beat up Fraternity Orcs (and burn adventures). So I go back to the Hippy Camp, beat up hippies until I have 2 more Spanish flies (for a total of 20), go back to the Orcish Frat House (Bombed Back To The Stone Age), and now I immediately meet the Chieftain of the Flies. Do we have to have a multiple of five flies in order to get the drink(s)? --Cyferpunk 08:41, 10 March 2008 (CDT)
So long as you have at least five flies, then you meet the guy is random. I think it is a "superlikely", so you mostly get him in four adventures or less, but the flies do not need to be exactly a multiple of five. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 12:30, 10 March 2008 (CDT)
Is the quest completely over for that ascension if you redeem the flies, or can you go back out for more flies and get more drinks?--Leicontis 15:40, 13 March 2008 (CDT)
- As long as you got the fly trap equiped you can collect flies. As long as you got flies you can turn them in for drinks. The flies and the fly trap are quest items and disappear on ascending, but otherwsie stay with you.--Plater (t|c) 16:03, 13 March 2008 (CDT)
I have just gotten a Spanish fly from a sabre-toothed ferret. So it's not only the hippies that drop flies. They're dropping like flies. --StorellaDeville 11:22, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
during the war
my friend's got the fly trap before the beginning of war and didn't finished it then. now it's the island quest and there's this war - the quest cannot be comleted. hippy camp doesn't do any adventures (just a store) and no any flies drop from hippies on battlefield. even if they were - there wouldn't be an adventure back in frat house. so there, i'll go edit this in article... --Hrag 12:57, 6 June 2008 (CDT)
- I'm pretty sure you can complete it after the war is over. See other comments on this page. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:04, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry
Sorry Stomper, I've reverted your changes, then made one myself. If you want to keep trying, use a sandbox page. --Arkcon (talk) 14:32, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Why did you revert them? The current version is extremely unclear.
OK, from the history of the discussion thread, I can see I'm talking to stomper. Use the radio buttons, to compare previous pages, your attempt to create a numbered list where the formatting failed, and my revert. Make good changes, preview them, and then save them.
The current version isn't elegantly formatted, but its hardly unclear. It just repeats itself again and again -- yes, you can start and compete the quest before and after the war. That used to not be the case, that was changed by TPTB (I looked up when and said so), someone said they couldn't complete the task mid-war, after the page was already updated, and someone says again that you can complete before and after the war. --Arkcon (talk) 10:57, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
