Monster HP range spading

I have determined ranges for the HP of the monsters (creatures?) here:

Neptune flytrap: 697 to 705 (probably 700)

Octopus gardener: 596 to 604 (probably 600)

Stranglin' algae: 597 to 607 (probably 600)

Sponge: 993 to 1003 (probably 1000)

These values take into account ML variance (±5) and MCD. The probable values were chosen because the dev team likes round numbers. If no one objects I'll add these probable values to the monster data pages.

Moxie Spading

1049 moxie and the Algae, Gardener, and Sponge are hitting me on crits but nothing else. Have not encountered a Fly Trap. Redwulf25 ci 03:27, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

I can say the same, except with a moxie of 601. Haven't been hit except on a critical. Oakianus 00:10, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Due to use of potions of Gr8ness to get up this high 519 is the lowest I've been able to confirm, and I was only able to face an Octopus and a sponge at that level before gaining more Moxie. Redwulf25 ci 03:01, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Drop lowest Moxie to 466; that's where I've been, and only crits seem to get through. Shame that the item drop rates are at best HORRID.. Qaianna 22:36, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

At 416 Moxie, the sponge and the algea were only able to crit me, the flytrap was hitting me often and the octopus hit me once with a non-crit attack. --TiCaudata 17:18, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Just confirming that these guys are immune to V mask pickpocketing (probably like all underwater zones). I'm assuming that they're also immune to all forms of pickpocketing. --Prestige 10:51, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Not all items are un-pickable. The bubble gum has been observed to be stealable. That's the only one I'm aware of so far. The two candidates I can think of that might be stealable down here are the soggy seed packet and the flytrap pellet. Everything else seems to have too low a drop rate. Maybe the slime is pickable, too. But if you've gotten a V mask theft message on every monster and gotten nothing from it, then I'd have to say that nothing can be stolen here. Combat frequency

For data on combat frequency when the non-combats can appear, see the talk pages of those non-combats. Clearly they are affected by combat frequency modifiers. I'm thinking the base rate for either/both is 5% and they are affected normally by modifiers. But there isn't enough data to confirm that yet.--Prestige 10:41, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

I spent over 100 adventures in this area with Smooth Movements on and I have seen a non-combat adventure yet given that I have no ML increases on and I have not equipped any Items found here ie Octopus spade etc. --Planetstereo 12:26, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Unless you equip a straw hat or a spade, you won't see a single non-combat. The question is what their base rate is, if you have the equipment --Bale 02:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
  • OK, in 100 turns at -20% combat rate: 9 gardens, 18 chests. It's worth mentioning -- although it's probably just RNG -- that I've repeatedly seen runs of 4 chests in a row happen, including twice during this test. Hey, I'm not sure if it is just the rng but I've noticed a direct relationship between one hit wins and the appearance of a non-combat. I spent approx 30 turns with +15% non combat (sonata, ring of conflict and fresh scent), seeing three non-combats (two chests, one planting). I then played in a ball pit and non-combats shot up, with 5 chests and one planting). - nasah, Aug 25th, 2010

Relative Item Drops

It seems that the the flytrap pellet drops the most, followed by soggy seed packet, then glob of green slime. --Rapmasta G 07:58, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
