If you are wearing the clown suit, another adventure comes after this one where you fight this clown boss. --RoadLord 03:50, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

To get the clown suit, you have to pickpocket the bowtie. Or is the bowtie a regular drop now?--Joebob 03:51, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

The bowtie isn't needed to actually get through the door, even though you don't have the full outfit. Or that's what I got, anyway. --Wannas1693 06:10, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

It seems like you don't need the bowtie in order to pass this adventure. Probably because you can only get it if you are a DB or an AT. --RoadLord

I passed with the foolscap fool's cap, the clownskin buckler, the bloody clown pants and the acid-squirting flower, which makes it only 4 clown items... I don't think the red nose in my inventory counts. Maybe one of the items you counted earlier didn't count? --Groli 14:44, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

I passed with:

  • Hat: clown wig
  • Weapon: clown hammer
  • Off-Hand: Dyspepsi-Cola shield
  • Pants: bloody clown pants
  • Accessory 1: Baron Von Ratsworth's monocle
  • Accessory 2: big red clown nose
  • Accessory 3: acid-squirting flower

So, it does not seem to be necessarily five items from the Terrifying Clown Suit oufit...--Luos 16:41, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

Do clown-crafted items actually count? Everyone that's passed seems to have in common the acid-squirting flower. I can't get through with a nose, pants, and jester cap..--Tarantio 16:48, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

Yes, it does. Tested with multiple combinations of items, and it requires 4 clown items - mix-and-match from the suit + clownskin crafted items.--Tarantio 16:56, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

I got through using:

  • Hat: balloon helmet
  • Weapon: 5-Alarm Saucepan
  • Off-Hand: Dyspepsi-Cola shield
  • Pants: bloody clown pants
  • Accessory 1: Baron Von Ratsworth's monocle
  • Accessory 2: stainless steel solitaire
  • Accessory 3: clownskin belt

This seems to back up Luos' earlier claim that five items from the clown suit are unnecessary. Perhaps three clown related items are all that you need. If someone could verify this before we change the front end of this page that would be great.--Magus Reginald Bumpershoot 19:33, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

on a side note isn't let sleeping doors lie a pun on the phrase let sleeping dogs lie? --Wurmsrus 09:08, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

floor?

  • i just tattered away from every fight and still saw beelzebozo. seems "until ten fights" either is not true or the counter is decremented even if you free run away. --Evilkolbot (talk) 21:16, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

There's more to this than just 4 items

I just got burned with 3 items (bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, & big red clown nose). It looks like 4 are required. ColtsScore 18:47, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
I just got burned again with 4 items (bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, big red clown nose & clown shoes). There must be more to this than just 4! ColtsScore 18:53, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
And I just got through with bloody clown pants, big red clown nose, clown shoes & a polka-dot bowtie instead of the acid-squirting flower.ColtsScore 19:02, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

I got through with clown wig, bloody clown pants and big red nose. Maybe a hat is worth more than an accessory? Or it somehow goes by power?--Subliminabubble 11:08, 28 June 2007 (CDT)

Just got through with a Foolscap Fool's Cap, clownskin harness and clown pants. --TechSmurf 20:46, 28 June 2007 (CDT)

I just got through with Foolscap Fool's Cap, clownskin harness, clown pants, and big red clown nose. Rithe 22:05, 28 June 2007 (CDT)

I didn't get through with balloon helmet, clown pants, clown shoes and acid-squirting flower. --Squiffle 23:56, 28 June 2007 (CDT)

and then I did get through with the same plus a big red clown nose --Squiffle 00:03, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

Failed with foolscap fool's cap, bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, and big red clown nose. --Baltar 19:37, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

Also failed with balloon helmet, bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, and big red clown nose. --Baltar 19:49, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
But success with clown wig, bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, and big red clown nose -- no surprise, based on Subliminabubble's comment above. --Baltar 19:59, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

I also got burned with bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, big red clown nose & clown shoes. I got through when I added clownskin harness. --Atillo 23:53, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

strangely enough, I passed with balloon sword, clown wig, and bloody clown pants only. weird. --Fool 23:56, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

I didn't get through using:

Hat: balloon helmet Weapon: Disco Banjo Pants: bloody clown pants Accessory 1: clown shoes Accessory 2: Baron Von Ratsworth's monocle Accessory 3: acid-squirting flower

I think the acid-flower doesn't work.

I'm going to venture a guess that the clown hammer doesn't do jack diddly squat, as it's a donator-only item. Sort of. --TechSmurf 12:31, 30 June 2007 (CDT)

The damage is off, or it isn't 55-125 at least. I am level 5 with 17 (14) Mus, 34 (21) Mys, and 21 (14) Mox, and I took 22 damage from the napalm cream pie. --Valkron 08:47, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

It seems that the acid flower doesn't work. So if you wear 3 clown items + the acid-flower, you will fail. We got confused with 5 items because of the flower.

  • I have copied over the 99%-certain solution from the HCO forums. --Jonrock 19:14, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
  • I got in with just a clown wig and the balloon sword. Looks like the balloon sword is worth 2. Changing page to reflect this. --Silophant 09:01, 4 July 2007 (CDT)
    • Excellent, thanks! --Jonrock 14:19, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

The scaling damage is listed as going to 125, but I just got dealt 311 damage (level 16 character with ~400hp). --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:25, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

Recurrence of this adventure

Currently the page claims that if you get this adventure and pick "Let sleeping doors lie" it will recur every adventure afterwards until you select "Push the nose". This is close to true but not exactly; after I picked "Let sleeping doors lie" it recurred three times and then let me get other adventures again. -- Antaeus Feldspar 11:34, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

  • I think it might be just RNG --CG1:t,c,e 12:42, 21 July 2007 (CDT)
  • Same with me, I'm changing it, it's clearly wrong.--Stufff 01:47, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

Zero Clownosity

Is it really worth it to mention the zero clownosity items? The clown hammer makes sense, as it is not dropped in the fun house, so that only leaves the acid flower. It just seems pointless to me to have a bullet with three points, two of which are common sense. Maybe instead of mentioning the clown hammer and acid flower, put a bullet saying that anything not on that list does not add to clownosity. --CheezyBob 12:21, 17 October 2007 (CDT)

  • My gut reaction is that if anything would make people think "this might/should give clownosity" that it should probably be clearly specified that it gives none. Plus, to me, the list as it exists doesn't look that hard on the eyes. Just my opinion. Bakapyrite 12:49, 17 October 2007 (CDT)
  • If the flower weren't mentioned, there would be no end to people asking "but what about the flower?" This way is much more concisely definitive. --Jonrock 15:27, 17 October 2007 (CDT)

Hatrack?

I'm guessing no, but does a hatrack wearing a clown hat add clownosity? --Wavedash 17:58, 27 April 2008 (CDT)

Apparently, the answer is actually yes. Hatrack equips count towards your Clownosity total. My hatrack wore a balloon helmet (1 clownosity) while I wore bloody clown pants (1 clownosity) and a clown wig (2 clownosity), and the door changed into Lurking at the Threshold. I'll update the page.
However, this brings up the next question: do Disembodied Hand equips count for Clownosity? Irregular 06:08, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Just to reconfirm, I put a clown wig, which has 2 clownosity, on to my Hatrack, while I put my foolscap and big red clown nose, and I made it through to fight the Clownlord.--Sympa 01:52, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Disembodied Hand

Just tested it with a disembodied hand, and it does work. I was wearing only a clown harness (2 clownosity) on my character, and had a balloon sword (2 clownosity) equipped on the disembodied hand. Adding it to the article. --Glitterboy 3:28, 11 January 2009 (EST)

4 vs 5

I got through today with 4 clownosity (clownskin belt, foolscap fool's cap, bloody clown pants, no other clown items), same as (well, similar to) my past 20 or so times through. Did anything actually change, or is 4 or more still enough? --Johnny Treehugger 00:38, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I've seen no evidence that it changed (and just tested the balloon hat to make sure it was still 3) so I've reverted JLE's edits. --Lordebon 14:29, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Has anyone tried the joybuzzer? Orangatuan

Inventory

It's worth mentioning that when you reach this page, it won't allow you to exit the Adventure to the Inventory screen...

..you need to be wearing the clowngear before you reach the door..Kahlzun 07:28, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

That's not specific to this. It happens during all adventuring. You cannot change your equipment in the middle of a choice adventure any more than you can change your equipment in the middle of a fight. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Maximum Clownosity

from what i counted, it appears 16 is the maximum amount of clownosity you can have at any given time.--The ErosionSeeker 22:26, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
