Definitely not +HP. Using the formula on HP,

 G	1.05
 C	1.5
 M	1239
 m	845
 P	0
 R	1.25
 Max HP =
 CEILING(
   G × CEILING(
     R × MAXIMUM(
           FLOOR((M + 3) × C) + P,
           FLOOR(m × C)
         )
       )
 )
 = 2446

... which is what I currently have. --Stannius 15:45, 18 June 2008 (CDT)

Ruled out elemental resistance.--Stannius 17:13, 18 June 2008 (CDT)

Physical resistance? --Irregular 22:30, 19 June 2008 (CDT)

What is "physical resistance"? Is it any different from Damage Reduction or Damage Absorption?--Stannius 15:45, 20 June 2008 (CDT)

No, sorry about that. I should have been clearer. On a side note, thanks for testing this. --Irregular 18:06, 22 June 2008 (CDT)

I got a tip that the effect hadn't been deployed properly at first, and rechecked my HP. I now believe this gives a 10% HP bonus, although it could be something like 3% per level to make it "not ascension relevant." (I am currently level 30.) --Stannius 11:53, 23 June 2008 (CDT)

My HP went from 6792 to 7472 on my level 125 Sauceror (no ascensions, no buffs, and no equipment bonuses to stats) --Zaranthos 23:51, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

I'm getting +10% HP (424 -> 467) as a level 13 TT, with muscle 212(154). --Greycat 10:32, 7 July 2008 (CDT)

I checked again at level 31, 32, and 32.5. Consistently just over 10% (e.g. 10.02%) - so perhaps it's rounded up but it's not a complicated effect. Stannius 10:22, 18 July 2008 (CDT)

At level 8 and without gnomish hardigness (which I don't have HP'ed) I get 10.43% bonus HP.--Stannius 10:50, 27 August 2008 (CDT)

Perming

Does this skill, or any of the other skills from Hodgman's journals, become Hardcore Permanent when you acquire it? Or do you have to choose it to become HP when you ascend? --WesternActor 15:43, 17 July 2008 (CDT)

  • They each need to be Hardcore Perm'd. Pretty much a solution to someone using all 14 skillbooks/5 songs in one run and being done with it. --TechSmurf 17:22, 17 July 2008 (CDT)
