Initial Thoughts

Level 27 Disco bandit

You face off against the two manly pirates, matching them drink for drink. The contest quickly degenerates into feats of strength (arm-wrestling, chair-lifting, floor-crawling), feats of moxie (distance urination, attempts at wenching) and feats of magic (managing not to vomit). There's no clear winner, but there are three clear losers. You gain 3 Drunkenness. You gain 300 Muscleboundness. You gain 300 Enchantedness. You gain a Mysticality point! You gain 300 Chutzpah.

Nice stat gain here, if only I didn't have 144 adventures to go and was at 19 already --- princessbitchykitty

Level 7 Sauceror

(Cheat) You raise your glass, teleport the contents into one of your opponent's stomachs, and slam the empty glass back down. You repeat the trick, switching opponents each glass, until both of them are snoring softly under the table. You write immature and inappropriate things on their faces with a marrrker, then arrange them into an embarrassing tableaux. You gain 46 Beefiness. You gain 43 Enchantedness. You gain 26 Roguishness.

The entry already posted for 'Cheat' shows 100 substat gain, so it's capped. My Stats are 40 Mus, 50 Mys, 37 Mox. Gorillo

I've gotten gains of 100 each when Cheat-ing as well, so yeah, they're capped. I'm 126 Mus, 120 Mys, 212 Mox. PaladinWhite 12:02, 4 December 2007 (CST)
I've tried both options as a Level 17 Pastamancer. I don't have the exact numbers, but based on them and what was said above, I'd say that that stat gains scale to your level, so to speak. I also had higher muscle stat gains, than myst or moxie, so that tells med that the stat gains are random or they depend on your Zodiac Sign. Cheesedude 11:29, 5 December 2007 (CST)

Level 40 DB: [Cheat] You raise your glass, mime drinking, then quietly pour the glass out under the table. You feel pretty moxious while you're getting away with it, until one of your pirate opponents notices his shoes are soaking wet.

The ensuing barrr brawl (brarrrwl?) proves a pretty effective workout, all things considered. You gain 125 Muscleboundness. You gain 100 Sarcasm.--Darkness 06:48, 6 December 2007 (CST)

From what I've been able to piece together, A Test of Testarrrsterone, That Explains All The Eyepatches, and Yes, You're a Rock Starrr only occur for non-pathed and Boozetafarians.
Since those three adventures can increase Drunkeness or involve drinking booze, Teetotalers and Oxygenarians get The Right to Bear Arrrrms, Abstinence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder, and Get Real instead (with the latter also getting the semi-rare(?) Voulez-vous manger avec moi?.
Yes, this doesn't account for the Insult Beer Pong match with Old Don Rickets, but who can claim that wasn't non-alcoholic beer they were using? Mayhaps Rickets and the Cap'm don't rank amongst the harrrdcore of the Cove.... --Mike Antleg 11:21, 11 December 2007 (CST)

I received less than the minimum gain listed on one of the stats:

[Drink up and hope for the best]

You gain 3 Drunkenness.
You gain 61 Beefiness.
You gain 116 Wizardliness.
You gain 110 Chutzpah.

Maybe the gains are level-based? I was only level 8 when i did this. --Telis R 06:20, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

My guess it they are level based at level 6 I got the following:

You face off against the two manly pirates, matching them drink for drink. The contest quickly degenerates into feats of strength (arm-wrestling, chair-lifting, floor-crawling), feats of moxie (distance urination, attempts at wenching) and feats of magic (managing not to vomit). There's no clear winner, but there are three clear losers. You gain 3 Drunkenness.

You gain 43 Muscleboundness. You gain a Muscle point!

You gain 67 Mysteriousness.

You gain 55 Cheek.

Definitely less than the min shown on the second choice. --Uzziah 19:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

"Cheat" Results

Pastamancer, 15 drunk. Stats at 79(53)/81(70)/64(51), gained 35/52/52. Not a stat day. --Bagatelle 14:54, 15 March 2008 (CDT)

I'm using an AT whose unbuffed Myst was higher than her unbuffed Moxie, (but it was the other way around buffed) and I still only got the Muscle and Moxie.--MaskedLihc 14:54, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

"Drink Up" Results

  • I received 51 / 92 / 68 substats on a level 7 AT with 43 (40) / 44 (41) / 100 (52) as stats. These are lower than the gains listed in the table, so it looks like we need to spade here. --Doctor Fettuccini 09:50, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

At level 8 (63/55/46) during KOLHS, I received 96/69/84. --Kitsunegami (talk) 00:38, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

  • With 84 (67) / 69 (58) / 67 (49), I received 103/85/75. --Kitsunegami (talk) 00:56, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Funky Myst gains are due to being under a Myst sign... Not sure of how best to handle them otherwise. Gains seem to be 50%-100% mainstat, for all three. --TechSmurf 23:56, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Wuss out

Just appeared to take two turns instead of one, which isn't documented here. Does this always happen? I have no other weird effects, and it definitely dropped me from 32 to 30 turns left over (and incremented my counter from 372 to 374). Arancaytar (talk) 02:25, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

On closer examination, it might be a browser hiccup that caused it to load the page twice. I now have Caronch's map, even though I never saw the corresponding encounter. Arancaytar (talk) 02:42, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
