Tower Revamp

I've gone ahead and moved the old A Telescope page and its associated talk page to A Telescope/Old and Talk:A Telescope/Old, respectively, per the last discussion on the old talk page. In its place I've added some of the new telescope content. I'm currently in a post-crystal non-Bugbear Invasion run with a one-upgrade telescope (basic + one certificate). It seems that a basic telescope gets you a view of the Registration Desk, so I've dumped some of the information that I can see there, though I can't check it because I've already completed the quest. • I have a fully upgraded telescope, and I get 6 tidbits. The first 3 are tied to the Registration Desk. The next 2 appear to be elemental tests for the Hedge Maze. The third one might be as well, I'm not sure.

You see a group of people darting around outside the walls of the keep.

You adjust the focus and see a second group of people all wearing sunglasses and dancing.

You scan to the right a bit and see a third group of people, all of whom appear to be on fire.

You sweep the telescope up to reveal some nasty-looking, dripping green bushes on the outskirts of a hedge maze.

Beyond the maze's entrance you see a miasma of eldritch vapors rising from deeper within the maze.

You focus the telescope on the back side of the keep, somehow, and see a pipe that occasionally vomits out a greasy ball of hair.

As a note - I used a certificate after the tower revamp and I received meat. The maximum # of upgrades hasn't changed or is at most 6.-Toffile (talk) 20:34, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

• I have 5 pieces (I think - 5 sounds right and I get +25% from Starry Eyed) and I see-

You scan to the right a bit and see a third group of people, surrounded by garbage and clouds of flies.

You sweep the telescope up to reveal some creepy-looking black bushes on the outskirts of a hedge maze.

Beyond the maze's entrance you see wintry mists rising from deeper within the maze.

You focus the telescope on the back side of the keep, somehow, and see a pipe with lava slowly oozing out of it. So I'm getting 6 bits of information. But maybe I'm just awesome. --Johnny Treehugger (talk) 20:42, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

• From reports on the forums it appears that the first line about initiative is a freebie. With a basic non-upgraded telescope you will get the first two lines - initiative contest (which is always the same) and the mus/mys/mox contest. Each upgrade thereafter gives you another line up to 5 certificates used. The 6th and 7th certificate don't give any further info, and only improve the Starry Eyed buff. -Darkcodelagsniper (talk) 23:15, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
