The repeated "that's bad" comment reminds me of the Simpsons 'Treehouse of Horror III' episode in which Homer buys Bart the evil Krusty Doll:

Owner: Beware! It carries a terrible curse.

Homer: Oooh, that's bad.

Owner: But it comes with a free Frogurt!

Homer: That's good!

Owner: The Frogurt is also cursed.

Homer: That's bad.

...etc.

This seems to be very similar to the Boy Meets World episode "Heartbreak Cory" where Cory sprains his ankle getting off the bus and spends the time drinking hot chocolate in the lodge and makes out with the coworker in charge of him.
