When Used:

You read from The Smith's Tome. It's a dreary and self-absorbed manifesto of loneliness, but it does give you some ideas, and some materials with which to carry out those ideas. You acquire an item: Flaskfull of Hollow You acquire an item: lump of Brituminous coal You acquire an item: handful of Smithereens

Details

In addition to the Flaskfull of Hollow, one casting of Summon Smithsness provides one handful of Smithereens, which can be used to make consumables and combat items, and a lump of Brituminous coal, which can be smithed into equipment. If the player has the Pulverize skill, this equipment can be pulverized to a second handful of Smithereens.

This means that each cast can provide either one consumable/combat item and one piece of equipment, or two consumables/combat items (if the player has Pulverize).

Notes

• This skill is granted by your mystical bookshelf once you have used the Tome, and thus it is available anytime you have access to your bookshelf (including Hardcore, but not runs such as Bad Moon or Zombie Slayer).
• Each Tome's summons can be used up to three times each day.
  • During Ronin and Hardcore you may only summon three times from all your Tomes in total each day.
  • After ascending, the counter on Tomes is reset and you can use them another three times each.
• The button in your bookshelf for this summons is labeled "Crack it Open". The Use Skills dropdown menu has the actual skill name of "Summon Smithness".
