This holiday is for the remembrance of Sneaky Pete the Redundantly Sneaky, one of three archetypal elders who shaped the Kingdom into what it is today. (Whether or not we should thank them for it is still up for grabs.)
On this day, everyone gathers in bars to swap stories about the sneaky, underhanded tricks they've pulled on people, while drinking copious amounts of green beer. The parties are generally quite memorable, or at least they would be, if anyone were able to remember them.
The green beer's pretty nasty, but it's expeditious, and it's said that Sneaky Pete himself invented the recipe. Which, all things considered, might have been his final, enduring prank. Oh, and few people know this, but Sneaky Pete's not a saint -- the "St." in the holiday name stands for "Street."

Details
The Kingdom's version of Saint Patrick's Day. It also incorporates several elements of Mardi Gras.
On St. Sneaky Pete's Day you can cocktailcraft green beers and purchase them from The Gnomish Micromicrobrewery. You can also meatpaste green marshmallows, if you have some marshmallows left over from last Yuletide. And then save them for next Yuletide, because you can't eat 'em raw and you can't roast 'em until then.
Also on this holiday, you can drink green beer while you are "falling down drunk" for up to 10 drunkenness points past your normal limit. When your drunkenness meets or exceeds 26, the normal Drunken Stupor adventures are replaced with special St. Sneaky Pete's Day Stupor adventures.

Notes
- Jick has indicated on the radio shows that his creative juices have dried up over the question of "stuff you wake up with after a night of drunken revelry" and that the tattoo will be the only reward until they start to flow again.
- 19 March 2012:
- Question: Will SSPD always have the tattoo?
- Jick: No. I, personally, am fine with it becoming something static, until/unless we have a really good idea for that, as we've plumbed the depths of that.
- Skullhead: The idea was to keep the encounter going, regardless. Old stuff stays out.
- 22 March 2012:
- Jick: I don't know what the right approach is... we could just say there's nothing new until we tell you otherwise, but then we'll forget. We can just announce new stuff.
- Riff: We will forget, though.
- Jick: Most of the holidays have not changed in years.
- 19 March 2012:
- He has also said that none of the special "reward" items (orange, yellow, red, green, and blue traffic cone) will be available again on future St. Sneaky Pete's Days.
On this holiday, The Hermitage will have a total of 5 ten-leaf clovers, or 6 if you have used a hermit script. This is one (or two) more than the usual maximum of 4 clovers. Characters still in ronin or hardcore will still see their available clovers reduced by up to 2, but this still gives them one more clover than is normally possible. Characters under a Bad Moon sign will not have any clovers available.- In order to get into St. Sneaky Pete's Day Stupor, you must get your drunkenness up to 26 by any method. Such methods include:
- Drinking green beers, which may be drunk while you are <= 10 past your normal drunkenness limit (before or after Liver of Steel) (i.e. up to 25 without Liver, or 30 with -- so you'd need Liver to reach SSPD Stupor this way)
- During SSPD, green beer is always the daily special at The Gnomish Micromicrobrewery.
- Using the Dungeons of Doom potion which gives 1-3 points of drunkenness
- Using Yummy Tummy beans, which might give 1 point of drunkenness
- Using a 668 scroll, one result of which gives 10 points of drunkenness
- Eating a drunki-bear (green drunki-bear, red drunki-bear, yellow drunki-bear), which gives 4 points of drunkenness, but requires 4 fullness
- Drinking a jar of squeeze while your drunkenness is at 19
- Drinking a bucket of wine while your drunkenness is at 16
- In Bad Moon, drinking to at least 12 drunkenness, then getting the Surprising! adventure in the Noob Cave.
- Drinking green beers, which may be drunk while you are <= 10 past your normal drunkenness limit (before or after Liver of Steel) (i.e. up to 25 without Liver, or 30 with -- so you'd need Liver to reach SSPD Stupor this way)
- Once you reach at least 26 drunkenness, you will have "St. Sneaky Pete's Day Stupor" adventures instead of the standard "Drunken Stupor" adventures.
- Up until Sneaky Pete's day XI, strings of beads would only drop for female characters. On Sneaky Pete's day XII and XIII, they only dropped for males.
- St. Sneaky Pete's Day X lasted two days for the reason given in this March 17, 2007 announcement: "Happy St. Sneaky Pete's Day! Sorry it's late -- to make it up to the people who missed it last night after rollover, the entire day of tomorrow will also be St. Sneaky Pete's Day."
- According to dev team member JLE, the April 3, 2007 SSPD happened by accident; Jick pushed the button for St. Sneaky Pete's Day on the right day of the wrong month. Subsequently, the off-season SSPD was aborted sometime late in the morning of April 3. Jick himself said on the forums, "When I edited the code to make it stay SSPD for an extra day after the real St. Patrick's Day, I messed up and used the wrong variable name."
- On St. Sneaky Pete's Day XI "Cinco de Mayo", the day's items were coded to drop only once for each player. Due to the non-tradable flag turned off by mistake, trading or putting the items into the clan stash allowed players to farm. Several SSPD XI items made it into the mall before this was corrected.
- St Sneaky Pete's Day XII was briefly a repeat of the previous "Cinco De Mayo", with the same adventures and item drops. This was fixed after a couple of hours, allowing the yellow glowstick to drop in an otherwise "normal" manner.
- St Sneaky Pete's Day XVII was a repeat of XVI, with the same items and adventures. The error was not caught until late in the day, and not corrected as doing so would leave out those who had already used up their adventures before the fix.
References
- Sneaky Pete, besides being one of the legendary figures in the annals of the Kingdom, is any cheap or homemade liquor laced with a narcotic.
- The line about the beer being "nasty, but expeditious" is a reference to the Powdermilk Biscuit commercials on A Prairie Home Companion ("Heavens, they're tasty and expeditious").
