Combat Messages
  • At the start of combat (indicates he's out or nearly out of charges)
<name> is looking a little thin.
<name> is just skin and bones. Well, slime and slime, technically, but still -- you should feed him!
  • Regular messages:
<name> sniffs around, looking for something to absorb.
<name> leaps on your opponent, sliming it for X damage. It's inspiring!
    MPYou gain some Mana Points.
<name> paces around aimlessly, making wet squishy noises.
<name>'s starting to look a little thin.
  • Item consumption:
You give <name> your <item>, which he hungrily devours.
<name> plops himself down on the pile of gear, absorbing all of it.
  • At the end of combat:
<name> shudders, makes some gurgling noises, and expels a big glob of... something.
Slimestack.gifYou acquire an item: slime stack
<name> hops around, dancing a jig accompanied by wet squelching noises.
<name> looks up at you guiltily before disgorging a piece of equipment.
    SomethingYou acquire... something. [[Data:{{{item}}}]]
  • Enthroned in the Crown of Thrones (Sometimes, in the first three rounds only):
<name> leaps onto him and gets to corrodin'. By the time he's done, he has taken (10% of Monster's current HP) damage and looks considerably smaller.
  • Bjornified in the Buddy Bjorn (Sometimes, in the first three rounds only):
<name> whips a glob of slime at your opponent as it approaches, causing (10% of Monster's current HP) points worth of acrid smoke and screaming.
  • With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
<name> winks one of his adorable eyestalks at you from beneath the Tam o' Shanter.
  • With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
<name> squirms around the maypole, leaving a little trail of corrosive goo behind him.
  • With wax lips equipped:
The wax lips squirt up to <Name>'s surface. You're not at all sure how he manages to keep from dissolving them completely.

Arena Message

  • None. This familiar has no weaknesses.

Disgorging

Any piece of equipment that was not dropped normally has a chance to be acquired through the disgorging message.

  1. Only one piece of equipment can be disgorged at a time.
  2. Disgorging uses a mechanic somewhat similar to pickpocketing, but it only checks for one random eligible item and stops if it fails to drop.
  3. Pickpocket-only items cannot be disgorged.
  4. For the purposes of disgorging, the drop rates for all equipment items are modified by only the fairy bonus of your Slimeling, not by any other bonuses. Other bonuses are ignored, excepting the next point.
  5. Wearing the contact lenses increases the item drop bonus of the slimeling by +25%, but only for the purposes of disgorging.
  • This means that the game randomly selects one piece of equipment that has not dropped, applies the fairy bonus of the Slimeling to it, and rolls to see if you are given the item.
    • As an example: A 20 pound Slimeling gives a 50.17% bonus to items. Versus a Black Knight, which has four equally likely equipment drops at 15% each, the 20 pound Slimeling will disgorge a piece of equipment 15*(1 + 0.5017) = 22.53% of the time assuming all four equipment pieces were not dropped already.
    • Using the example above: A 20 pound slimeling wearing the undissolvable contact lenses gives a 75.17% bonus to items for disgorging and will disgorge an item from the Black Knight approximately 26.27% of the time, assuming all four equipment pieces were not dropped already.

Notes

  • Cannot be fed items that lack an autosell value, items that cannot be traded, or items that can be purchased from NPC Stores.
  • Equipment smithed from meat stacks will be converted only into slime stacks, not into MP.
  • The Slimeling restores MP 50% of rounds when fed equipment, as opposed to a Starfish restoring 33% of the time. The range of MP restored is slightly larger than a Starfish as well. However, it acts every round (either MP restoring, or displaying text), and thus gains no bonus from Jingle Bells.
    • A Slimeling with no charges will not act at all during combat, only at the start and the end. This means that if there are no messages from the Slimeling during any round of combat, it is completely depleted.
  • The number of MP charges that you will receive is equal to: Power/10 (or in case of weapons, the lower boundary of the damage range) +/- 1. Which is to say that a 10 power item (or a weapon with damage range 1-2) may give 0, 1, or 2 charges, and a 200 power item (or a weapon with damage range 20-40) may give 19, 20, or 21 charges.
  • The Slimeling may be fed items one at a time from inventory, or en masse by clicking the [Mass Slime] link which appears in the Terrarium when the Slimeling is the active familiar.
    • If you do not select an item in the Mass Slime interface, you get this error message:
Hey, stop that. You don't have any of those. GoldS?
  • Equipment that washes away during a fight under the Heavy Rains challenge path can still be disgorged.
