• "Rockin' Robin" was a song recorded in 1958 by Bobby Day. The songs that the robin whistles are other rock & roll hits from the '50s and '60s.
• In the 1960s Batman TV series Robin would often exclaim Holy <noun>! The familiar's equipment alludes to this Robin as well.
