Right in the Vestibule!

You're sneaking through Iznotyerzitz mine, trying to suppress the urge to sing "Hi Ho" for fear of awakening far more evil things than goblins, when you trip over the body of one of the curiously tall dwarves who work in the mine.

In addition to the basic mining ensemble, he's wearing a bright orange safety vest. Intrigued, you examine the body. He seems to have died of natural causes - natural as in a heart attack, not as in "crushed by a large, natural boulder." Being safety-minded didn't help him much, but you figure it might help you. Couldn't hurt, at least.

Occurred at Itznotyerzitz Mine

  • This adventure only occurred if you had the Torso Awaregness skill, you had all pieces of the Mining Gear outfit in your inventory, and you did not have a safety vest equipped or in your inventory.

  • "Hi ho, Hi ho / It's home from work we go" is part of the Disney song sung by the Seven Dwarfs on their way home from mining.
  • "For fear of awakening far more evil things than goblins" is a reference to The Fellowship of the Ring.
  • In the Dragonlance book Dragons of Spring Dawning the dwarf Flint Fireforge dies of a heart attack in the middle of the plot.
