You carefully advance into the thick, deep darkness of Special Ops. You hear Black Ops bugbears skulking, skulking... You're gonna have to deal with them if you want to turn the darkness generator off and get the elevator back online.
- If wearing fire:
The flickering light of your ill-advised hat reveals some details of the room...
- If wearing the UV monocular:
You adjust the UV monocular to the room's light level and peer around...
- If wearing the Rain-Doh green lantern or the magic lamp:
You raise your lantern and direct its feeble glow into the inky blackness...
- If wielding a fluorescent lightbulb:
The cold light from your weapon reveals a few more details of the room...
- If you shot a flare earlier:
The flare you shot earlier sheds some light into the room's darker corners...
Look for a fight |
You stumble around in the dark, and don't find anything to fight.
or
You spy one of the skulking Black Ops bugbears and tackle him before he gets a chance to slink back into the shadows.

Shoot a flare |
You shoot a flare into the darkness. Its flickering light penetrates the darkest parts of the labyrinthine room.
Give up |
You leave.
Occurs at Special Ops.
Notes
- The "Shoot a flare" choice only shows with a flaregun in inventory, and can only be shot once.
- Choosing "Give up" does not consume an adventure.
- Equipping a third-hand lantern, A Light that Never Goes Out, or snow mobile does not provide a light source.
