This isn't a guy who's wealthy because of his huge molybdenum-mining empire -- that'd be a molybdenum magnate. And it's not gonna teach you how to dance, or ring your little bell, that'd be a monster magnet. What it is is a powerful magnet that only attracts things made of molybdenum. (In-game plural: molybdenum magnets) |

Notes
- Received from Yossarian, The Junkman when dressed in Frat Warrior Fatigues, or War Hippy Fatigues after having beaten enough Frat Warriors in the Battlefield.
- Unsuccessful use of the molybdenum magnet does not consume a combat round, unless you attempt to use another item in the same round with the Ambidextrous Funkslinging skill or the Black Cat knocks it out of your hands.
- The gremlins never miss or fumble. This allows the attack text to appear even for characters with very high Moxie.
- In order to obtain Yossarian's tools from the gremlins, the magnet must be used as a combat item when the gremlin's last attack message mentioned a tool. Combat will then end, and you will acquire the item.
- In Fall of the Dinosaurs, the combat messages do not change, but it will automatically yield the tool if used on a dino that ate the correct gremlin (without any other requirement).
References
- The line in the description that reads "...it's not gonna teach you how to dance, or ring your little bell, that'd be a monster magnet..." refers to lyrics from the title track of the Monster Magnet album Powertrip. The lyrics in question are "Who's gonna teach you how to dance?" and "Who's gonna ring your little bell?"
- Molybdenum is a real chemical element. Though it has various applications, molybdenum is actually not at all magnetic.
