31337 scroll (First use in an ascension)

When Used

Scroll2.gif
You read the mystic runes on the Hermit Script, and feel the fabric of reality begin to alter around you.

A message briefly flickers on the scroll.

"The Hermit has been hax0red."

$clovercount += 1;

The message fades, and the scroll disintegrates in your hands.

When used in Bad Moon:

You read the mystic runes on the Hermit Script, and feel the fabric of reality begin to alter around you.

A message briefly flickers on the scroll.

"The Hermit has been hax0red."

ERROR. ERROR. ERROR.

The message fades, and the scroll disintegrates in your hands.

Notes

  • When used, this increased by one the number of ten-leaf clovers offered in The Hermitage each day, including the day the script is used. This lasted until you ascended.
  • As one would expect, this did nothing in Bad Moon.
  • While one is a Zombie Slayer, this had no effect as there is no Hermit.

History

  • No longer obtainable from the 31337 scroll as of Jan 1, 2022.
  • Prior to May 1st, 2012, using this item would have allowed access to the Hermit without the need for a hermit permit. The new effect was added after the Hermit no longer took your permit. It had the use text:

A message briefly flickers on the scroll.

"The Hermit has been hax0red. You may now enter the Hermitage through the back door. Enjoy your backdoor access to the Hermit."

The message fades, and the scroll disintegrates in your hands.
