|Locations||An Ancient Well|
|Monster Parts||beak, head, tentacle|
Krakrox secured the grappling hook on the edge of the well, and carefully lowered himself down. The small vertical tunnel soon opened out into the cavernous chamber of an underground lake, the roof supported with a ring of stone pillars. The rope was not nearly long enough to reach the surface of the water, and Krakrox paused momentarily to judge the risk of a dive.
And then a gigantic octopus tentacle whips up out of the lake and wraps around your torso.
You secure the grappling hook on the edge of the well, and carefully lower yourself down. This time, however, you stop just above the roof of the cavern.
Bracing his feet on the inside of the well, Krakrox drew his sword and waited, carefully watching the surface of the water. When the round, gray body of the octopus broke the surface of the water, the barbarian silently released the rope and dropped toward the monster, diving with his sword held before him like a spear...
The octopus grabs your leg and pulls you under the waglurb blub blurble glurgle glub! Argh! Eek! Ugh!
Krakrox gritted his teeth as the octopus grabbed his arm, nearly wrenching it out of the socket. Ooh! Ow! Ugh!
The octopus grabbed Krakrox's leg and bashed him against one of the stone pillars. The barbarian winced in pain. Ow! Oof! Ugh!
The octopus bites your <nipple> with its razor-sharp beak. Ever notice how beaks are always "razor-sharp"? It's like how plots are always nefarious and crews are always motley. Eek! Ugh! Ooh!
The octopus sprays you in the face with hot sticky black ink. This is highly inconvenient, not to mention disgusting. Ouch! Oof! Oof!

The octopus's beak snaps shut, mere inches away from your <ankle>. Yikes!
Krakrox dove out of the way of the octopus's tentacles as they violently whipped toward him.
The octopus grabbed Krakrox's leg, but a quick slash with his sword caused the beast to release him.
The octopus tries to bite your leg, but with all the thrashing around it gets confused and bites one of its own. To be fair, it was a four-in-five chance.
You take a deep breath as the octopus pulls you under the water. It doesn't seem to have had much of a plan past that, so you just hold your breath for a bit.
The octopus swings at you with several tentacles, but it's a poorly planned-out maneuver and it has to spend some time untangling itself. (FUMBLE!)
- Coughing and gasping for breath, you make your way out of the city to let your clothes and equipment dry before continuing on your quest.
