Food, Glorious Food
You walk into a section of the market where the smell of cooking seems stronger. Smoke rises from innumerable campfires, tin chimneys, and burning oil drums, filling the air with the aromas of unspecified meats and whatever spices could be scrounged up.
If you can read the signs, this is followed by:
The smoke also makes it kind of hard to see, but you manage to find another signpost. This one's a little fancier, and appears to be ads for particular "restaurants". With the help of your binder of notes, you translate the glyphs:
Big Merv's Protein Shakes |
Suddenly Salad |
Sizzling Weasel On a Stick |
If you cannot read the signs, you see instead:
The smoke also makes it kind of hard to see, but you manage to find another signpost. This one's a little fancier, and appears to be ads for particular "restaurants" which, alas, you are completely unable to figure out the names of. Still though, you can always follow your nose:
Follow it to the left |
Follow it to the right |
Follow it to the middle |
Each of these buttons randomly takes you to one of the destinations listed above.
Occurs as a choice in the Food Went A-Courtin' subadventure.
Notes
- You may only eat one of the foods in the above adventures per instance of the dungeon (does not reset on ascension). Clicking any button after having already eaten a food, regardless of whether you can read the signs or not, and even if it would take you to a different shop than the one you have already eaten at, yields the following adventure result:
- Looking around, you see that you've wandered into the section of the marketplace devoted to food-sellers and restaurants and corn-dog stands and such as like that. You're not feeling all that hungry though, or at least, not hungry for the sort of food they're likely to sell you here, so you pick a different direction to wander in, and soon discover that you've wandered out of the marketplace entirely.
- Got Milk and munchies pill do not affect adventure gains from food consumed here.
