Elemental Spell Damage
Here's a comprehensive list of everything in the game that restricts the type of elemental damage done by spells. Please note, only random-element spells are affected; element-specific spells (such as the Fearful Fettucini spell) remain unaffected. To see how to increase spell damage, see Bonus Spell Damage.
In order to resolve what type of damage will be dealt, the game will consider several things in order. Spells will inherently deal certain types of elemental damage but they can be overridden. The game will check what effects that the player has, then parse a player's equipment starting at the hat and ending at the third accessory. It will use whatever the last enchantment is to come out of the queue to set damage. This means that any accessories will trump an off-hand tuning item such as the various spellbooks or The Necbromancer's Stein; accessory 3 will trump all, and accessory 2 will override accessory 1 in the case of equipping both Ol' Scratch's manacles and Chester's Aquarius medallion. Any equipment will override Flavour of Magic.
Note that random-element Pastamancer spells will never be of the resisted element of an elemental monster.
