• The psychotic, super-intelligent computer refers to HAL 9000 from the novel/film 2001: A Space Odyssey. After killing almost the entire crew of the spaceship he's in, the sole survivor is forced to shut him down by removing his processing units one by one. As HAL slowly loses his consciousness, he begins to sing the song Daisy Bell, which begins "Daisy, daisy" (a double daisy, in other words) and includes the line "I'm half-crazy, all for the love of you."
• The plural is a reference to Daisy and Donald Duck, of Walt Disney fame.
• "You're a daisy if you do." is a quote from Doc Holiday as portrayed in the movie Tombstone.
