You step through the door and, improbable though it may be, you’re standing in your campsite. You try and see what kind of illusion it could be, but it’s accurate down to the last scrap of toilet paper stuck in the grass. Weird.

What’s weirder is that as you stand there, you walk up from behind your dwelling and shake your hand. “Hey, me, isn’t it nice to be here in your campsite?” the other you says.

”I -- huh? This can’t possibly be my campsite.”

The other you sighs. “Okay, you got me. We aliens were trying to calm your mind by providing you phantom visions of familiar places and of your loved ones. I reached into your mind and took the form of the person you love the most.”

”Well, I can’t fault you for accuracy,” you say, shrugging. “But what’s the point of all this?”

”Why, to guide you to the next phase of your development,” the other you replies. “You’re at a critical juncture, and it’s of vital importance that you make the right choice.”

”Okay, lay it on me.”

”Do you want to go through this silver door, this purple door, or this door with the green glow around it?” the other you stares intently into your eyes, waiting for your answer.

”That’s it? That’s all the information you’re going to give me? Can I at least save before I choose?”

The other you just stares, unblinking.
