General
CyberRealm is an area with 3 zones of varying difficulty; if played to completion, it's 20 adventures long per day, before adventure-savings are taken into account. The skill OVERCLOCK(10) makes the first 10 fights not cost an adventure.
Adventures in the zone lead to getting 0s and 1s, tradable currency items that can be used to buy items, and dedigitizer schematics. Both can be exchanged at The Dedigitizer.
Before going in, the drawers and trash in the server room can and should be checked. In particular, the bottom left drawer will give you information about the noncombats and hackers in the zones.
Fighting in the CyberRealm
Fights in CyberRealm are special as the monsters there resist damage from non-CyberRealm skills. You always have access to Throw Cyber Rock while in the Realm.
There are generally two categories of items that interact with CyberRealm: the equipment that helps you collect more 0s and 1s, and the equipment items and a few effects from CyberRealm that help with combat. It's worth checking the Mall of Loathing to see if you can pick some of these up for cheap.
Traveling though the CyberRealm
At 10 adventures, you will encounter a noncombat where you are subject to elemental damage (of an element chosen that day). You are given some amount 0s as a result of passing the test, with more resistance resulting in more 0s; even more 0s are awarded if you are in one of the harder zones.
At 20 adventures, another non-combat is encountered where you are given a schematic and at least 5000 meat; more meat is gained at the harder zones.
Rewards
Doing CyberRealm offers many schematics that can be exchanged alongside 0s and 1s for items at The Dedigitizer. Many of the items are intended to help with further adventuring specifically in CyberRealm.
Skill-granting items (all of these skills can be permed):
- OVERCLOCK(10) rom chip: grants OVERCLOCK(10), which makes 10 CyberRealm fights free.
- SLEEP(5) rom chip: grants SLEEP(5), which gives 5 free rests.
- STATS+++ rom chip: grants STATS+++, which gives +3 stats per fight won.
Consumables:
- Synthetic coffee: potion, +50% Combat initiative for 10 turns.
- iDrops: potion, +30% item drops from monsters for 10 turns.
- cybeer: size-2 epic booze, 40 turns of Connected (+5 familiar weight, +5 familiar damage)
- cyburger: size-2 epic food, 40 turns of Connected
- psilocyber mushroom: size-1 spleen item, 80 turns of Connected
Miscellaneous:
- hashing vise: smashes a schematic into 1s and 0s.
- insignificant bit: familiar hatchling, turns into Significant Bit.
- virtual cybertattoo: tattoo item
In addition, CyberRealm gives you a few thousand meat at the second non-combat adventure 20 adventures into a zone.
Meanwhile, the Hack Market sells three items for 500 meat each, two of which are CyberRealm related. The Synapse Blaster is a size-1 spleen item that gives +5 prismatic resistance for 30 turns.
CyberRealm during an Ascension
Players looking to ascend fast will most likely find value in the skills and the Synapse Blaster:
- While the free rests are more useful for someone with a Cincho de Mayo, they are still free rests worth free HP and MP for everyone.
- 10 free fights is good for extra stats, famxp, and anyone who can use 10 fights for any other purpose.
- The extra passive stats from STATS are useful in general and can be combined with the free fights for more experience.
- The Synapse Blaster is more useful for someone with access to Mmm-brr! brand mouthwash from the Sept-Ember Censer.
It's probably too difficult to gather enought 1s and/or 0s for most of the items in-run, so it's feasible to stop after the 10 free fights.
If you're a player who isn't going for a fast ascension and can spare some adventures, the 5000+ meat from the second non-combat and the consumables might help you, and the extra consumables might be accessible.
