When Used

  • From inventory:
If you have not found The Hidden City:

You admire the book of matches. From the staple to the little scratchy striking pad to the phosophorous-coated tips, it's a phillumenist's delight!
If you don't know the location of The Hidden Tavern:
Matchbook.gif
Huh. This book of matches says it came from a tavern not too far from the Hidden Park. You mark its location on your map.
If you know the location of The Hidden Tavern:

You re-read the book of matches and refresh your memory of the Hidden Tavern's address.
  • In combat:

You do that thing you've always wanted to do where you light an entire book of matches and throw it at somebody. It deals 40-50 damage, and is every bit as much fun as you imagined.

Notes

  • When used from inventory, this item reveals The Hidden Tavern in The Hidden City.
    • Before November 9, 2014, this worked even if the player had never been to The Hidden City.
  • Using this item from inventory does not consume it. Using it in combat does, obviously.
