You sneak into the Cobb's Knob Laboratory. Turns out that you didn't need to be all that sneaky, though, as the only Mad Scientist you run into is wearing glasses so thick he apparently can't see at all.
"Leftenant Sebastian, is that you? Are you prepared for your secret mission?" he asks. "Have you got your armor? Your matches to arrange? Your flag?"
Since you don't feel like fighting, you decide to play along. "Totally," you say. "I shall complete this quest for the glory of the Knob."
"Good, good." He reaches into his labcoat and brings out some provisions. "Use these to help you in your quest. If you fail, the Knob will disavow all knowledge of your mission. And it goes without saying that if you succeed, we'll take all the credit. Now get out there and win one for the Knob!"
You pocket the supplies and race out the door, then slow to a walk and chuckle to yourself. Heh... Knob.
Your ten-leaf clover disappears in a puff of smoke.

References
- The line refering to the Knob disavowing all knowedge in the event of failure is a reference to both the TV and Movie series Mission: Impossible, where the main characters are always told that in the event of failure, their agency will disavow knowledge of the operation.
- The section about Sebastian, matches, and flags refers to a segment of Eddie Izzard's Dress To Kill that talks about how movies vary in different countries. In fact, a deep reading of the adventure text in that context suggests that in this adventure you're playing an American hero, which would make "Believe it or not" a reference to the Joey Scarbury theme song from the TV show The Greatest American Hero.
