Behind the door there is a fog
You find yourself floating, weightless, in an indistinct fog. You can't see very far through it. Or at least you don't think you can -- it's impossible to tell how far you can see.
- Without having found the 'key'
Well, in a situation like this, there's only one way to go, and that's forward. Now, if you could only figure out which way is forward...
- Having found the 'key'
You sense a coldness to your left, and the coldness reminds you of a refrigerator, and a key that would have been beneath a refrigerator had there been a key beneath the refrigerator.
- Having found the 'hammer'
You sense warmth from the right.
- Having summoned 'Bertrand'
You see flickering lights in the fog behind you. By looking over your shoulder, I mean, not because the fog somehow lets you see behind you.
Plunge forward, toward the future |
You drift forward through the mists, and a message darts across your vision, written in wispy letters. You only catch a little bit of it...
Go left, toward the coldness |
You drift toward the coldness in the fog, and as gravity returns you find yourself in... not a room, exactly, but something like a room. More specifically, something like a room filled with angry mimes.
One of them notices you, and he doesn't need to speak to express himself -- he very clearly believes that you do not belong here.

Go right, toward the warmth |
You drift toward the warmth. As the warmth increases, so does the redness of the fog.
Near the fog there is an... anvil? | |

Go backwards, toward the lights |
- With a soul coin:
You drift backwards toward the flickering lights, and find a jukebox made of fog. You pull a soul coin out of your pocket and drop it in the foggy slot.
Behind the glass of the jukebox, a record emerges on a mechanical arm and begins to play. Apparently something is broken, because there continues to be exactly as much music playing as there was before you got here, which is to say no music at all. You elbow the jukebox in an attempt to fix it, but it doesn't work -- the record must just contain a recording of silence. Weird.
As you're about to leave, you notice that whoever fixed the jukebox forgot to put some of the screws back in it, so you're able to lift up the glass and snag the record. Maybe you can sell it to some avant-garde weirdo.
- As a Muscle class:
You acquire an item: record of infuriating silence |
- As a Mysticality class:
You acquire an item: record of tranquil silence |
- As a Moxie class:
You acquire an item: record of menacing silence |
- Without a soul coin:
You drift backwards toward the flickering lights, and find a jukebox made of fog. You try to play a song, but you don't have any change. Aww.
Occurs when entering the door in Behind the world there is a door..., or when entering the door in Ding Dong.
