Non-Standard Elements are not considered true elements, as they are dealt only by certain monsters (and never by players). In addition, these monsters have no weaknesses or vulnerabilities to any other element (whether standard or non-standard), although some of them are vulnerable to certain types of attacks.

There are currently five non-standard elements: Bad spelling, Shadow, Slime, Supercold, and Cute.

Bad spelling

Bad spelling damage is dealt exclusively by the monsters in The Valley Beyond The Orc Chasm, with the exception of the rampaging adding machine. There is no additional way to deal or resist it, but you can do a great deal of damage to the monsters by using a dictionary in combat.

Received From Monsters

The following monsters deal bad spelling damage:

Shadow

Shadow damage is dealt exclusively by your shadow, which can be found in The Sorceress' Chamber. There is no additional way to deal or resist it.

Received From Monsters

The following monster deals shadow damage:

Slime

Slime damage is dealt exclusively by the monsters in The Slime Tube, as well as the Coated in Slime effect. There is no additional way to deal it, but certain items and effects can give you Slime Resistance.

Received From Monsters

The following monsters (and the Coated in Slime effect) deal slime damage:

Supercold

Supercold damage is dealt exclusively as environmental damage and by the monsters in The WarBear Fortress. There is no additional way to deal it, but certain items and effects can give you Supercold Resistance.

Received From Monsters

The following monsters deal Supercold damage:

Cute

Cute is created by the Supreme Being Jill in the Future; you can collect its essence. However, no monsters actually deal cute damage. The bewitching boots have a "Slight Cute Resistance" enchantment, but it appears to do nothing.
