There are three possibilities, depending on your class:
As you near the Icy Peak, you hear a rumbling. The rumbling soon turns into a roar as an entire mountainside's worth of snow comes tumbling down on top of you.
You don't like it. The snow looks sloppy now, and by golly, you're going to fix it. You spend the next couple of hours carrying the snow back up the mountain, an armload at a time. It's quite a workout.

You decide to take this opportunity to meditate on the nature of snow. What does it sound like when it's falling on cedars? If Smilla had a sense of it, what would that sense be? Do the 7-foot Dwarves truly appreciate the whiteness of it?
You consider these things, and many other things, as hours pass. When you're done, you feel both colder and smarter.
