- When adventuring with an Artistic Goth Kid, the following special combats will sometimes replace a regular adventure in a zone, including adventuring in a Drunken Stupor (confirm?). The combat does not use a turn. The monster he draws depends on the phylum of the last monster that you and your Goth Kid defeated:
- The odds of encountering a free combat are 50/40/30/20/10/10/10.
- For more on the how free combats can occur, see the Encounter page.
- The Artistic Goth Kid hatches with a set of possible names that is not related to the default familiar names familiars normally hatch with. The default name set seems to follow the pattern of [first name] ["nickname"] [last name]. The last name is made of two parts joined without a space. They are built from the following (incomplete) list:
- First name
- Andy, Benny, Charlie, Chip, Chuckie, Chuckle, Danny, Davey, Freddy, Jack, Jeffy, Joey, Johnny, Freddy, Georgie, Larry, Marky, Marty, Mikey, Mickey, Nate, Ollie, Pauly, Ricky, Robby, Ronnie, Stevie, Timmy, Todd, Vinnie, Wally, Woody

References
- The end of combat message where the goth kid asks "Why so serious?" is a reference to The Joker, in the film The Dark Knight. This line quickly became an internet meme.
History
- Prior to June 8, 2012, the Goth Kid gave extra PvP fights every 30 combat adventures (or 20 with a little wooden mannequin equipped).
