A Landmine
You hear a beeping from the ground beneath your feet, and realize that you've just triggered the proximity sensor on a landmine.
What is a landmine even doing down here? Is what you would ask if you had time, but you don't. You need to figure something out, and fast.

Kick the landmine out of the way

You kick the landmine as hard as you can, and it clatters away. Not quite far enough, as it turns out, because the resulting explosion knocks loose a bunch of rocks, some of which hit you in the head.
When the dust settles, you notice that it also apparently opened up a new passageway, leading to an ominous-looking altar.
Thinking quickly, you toss a grappling hook into the air and quickly ascend. Noticing something far above you, you toss up two more and discover a hatch leading to a crashed UFO!
You manage to run away from the landmine before it explodes, but you also manage to fall on a bed of spikes as you're running, so it's kind of a wash.
