Arena Messages

  • When entered in a game of Hide and Seek:
<name> can't hide very well, because it can't stop rustling.

Notes

  • Damage ranges from int(X+1)/2 to X+1, where X is the weight of the familiar. It will attack roughly 25% of the time.
  • MP restore ranges from int(X+5)/2 to X+5, where X is the weight of the familiar. It will restore MP roughly 35% of the time.

References

  • The second line of the haiku is a play on the title of the song "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground", by The White Stripes.
  • The ability to restore MP by sprinkling you with maple syrup may be a reference to the game Paper Mario, in which Mario can heal FP by drinking maple syrup.
  • The message given with the wax lips equipped quotes the television characters Bob and Doug McKenzie from Second City Television, played by actors Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.
  • The attacking Maple Leaf may be a reference to John Bellairs' novel "The Face in the Frost" where such a leaf attacks wizard and main character Prospero.
