Wheel in the Clouds in the Sky, Keep On Turning
In the Kitchen in the Castle in the Clouds in the Sky, you find a curious thing -- it appears to be a wheel-shaped device used for dividing up the household (or Castlehold) chores among the different giants.
Depending on the current setting, you will get one of the following lines appended to the above:
- Right now it appears that it's the Procrastination Giant's turn to take out the garbage. (Muscle)
- Right now it appears that it's the Procrastination Giant's turn to pay the electricity bill. (Mysticality)
- Right now it appears that it's the Procrastination Giant's turn to guard the back door. (Ability to use the giant castle map)
- Right now it appears that it's the Procrastination Giant's turn to feed the cat. (Moxie)
| Turn the wheel counter-clockwise
|
If you turn the wheel:
You turn the wheel [clockwise|counterclockwise], making it the Procrastination Giant's turn to [pay the bills|guard the back door|feed the cat|take out the garbage].
As you lay resting from the exertion of turning the wheel, you hear some hustling and bustling taking place elsewhere in the Castle.
If you leave the wheel alone:
You leave the wheel alone.
Note that turning the wheel expends an adventure, but leaving the wheel alone does not.
Occurs at The Castle in the Clouds in the Sky.
Notes
The grey arrow does not move; turn the WHEEL clockwise or counterclockwise, and the arrow will point to the correct adventure.
Each clockwise turn will give the Procrastination Giant a new chore, moving down the list. Turning the wheel counterclockwise will move up the list instead. Initially, the wheel will be set to garbage (Muscle). One turn Clockwise will turn the wheel to "Pay the Bills" (Mysticality). If you go Counterclockwise instead, you'll get to "Feed the Cat" (Moxie). Two turns in either direction (both Clockwise or both Counterclockwise) will turn the wheel to "Guard the Door," and provide access to the The Hole in the Sky.
ANY turn away from "Take out the Garbage" will satisfy the Council's Quest, however -- even if the wheel is subsequently turned to "Take out the Garbage" again.
Just be sure that you visit the Council before you turn the Wheel back to "Take out the Garbage", otherwise they will assume you haven't turned the wheel.
The table below shows what the Procrastination Giant's chore is, and the corresponding effects. Turning the wheel clockwise moves you one column to the right on the table.
Confused?
Note that the diagram, while correct, causes confusion for many people. A Clockwise turn from the starting position brings the blue "Pay Electric Bills" to the top of the wheel (Mysticality). A Counterclockwise turn from the starting position brings the green "Feed the Cat" to the top of the wheel (Moxie). People seem to be continually confused over the fact that the giants remain stationary as the wheel turns. To be on the safe side, just follow the text directions and ignore the diagram.
