Talk:Wine Cellar Glyphs

From TheKolWiki

Perhaps you didn't have the spectacles on? Anyway, I was wondering if there is any difference between pouring all 3 bottles at once or pouring the correct bottles as you get them. Will both work???--InsertNameWhere 18:01, 23 October 2007 (CDT)

Uh... Those aren't the glyphs I saw. --Stinkoman 16:09, 7 July 2007 (CDT)

  • Of course they aren't - they're random for every player every ascension. The wiki isn't capable of randomizing images on pages, just text. --Quietust (t|c) 16:48, 7 July 2007 (CDT)

Is the reference really necessary? It doesn't seem at all related to the KoL content - you don't drink the liquid. If you did, I'd expect it to be an Indiana Jones reference, not a Harry Potter reference. --Crawly2 19:51, 22 July 2007 (CDT)

Seems to me the description of the wall, as well as the image is a reference to Silicon Knights' Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. In this game a 3 rune power circle is typified by a triangle in a circle with runes at each intersection, additionally green is the color aligned with one of the Ancients Xel'lotath. It is common to see a glyph grow bright green on a wall or other such surface. Though I'm not brave enough to modify the aricle, I'll let someone else do that if they agree with me.--Gezmo 18:41, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

On my multi, I just got the same glyph combination as I got on my main account the first time I did the MacGuffin quest (Theta, Male/Female, the circle with lines). Maybe it ticks through certain preset combinations depending on how many times you've done the quest?--Blzbob 12:28, 23 August 2007 (CDT)

On the Lv. 11 quest page, it says to pour the wine "in the order noted by the glyph pattern." Am I missing something? Doesn't any order "fit" the pattern (i.e. right, then left, then top) as well as any other when there are three points?--StDoodle 19:15, 3 January 2008 (CST)

  • I'm not sure which of two questions you're asking, so I'll answer both. If you're asking if pouring in a different order will work, go ahead and try it, but I guarantee you will get poisoned or otherwise damaged. If you're asking whether there's a better way of putting it than "in order," then my thought is that most people would naturally think top-to-bottom, left-to-right, as that is how English is read. --Bagatelle 20:36, 3 January 2008 (CST)
