I know I also got a flange from the gnefarious gnome and also from the Gnomester Blomester.

At the entrance to Thugnderdome, you're accosted by a burly gnome. "Typically, Tall One, two gnomes enter here and one gnome leaves. We occasionally allow one gnome and one humagn to enter, and then either one gnome or one humagn to leave, but only when the humagn looks tough enough to actually entertaign the spectators.

You don't look tough enough."

(You must have at least 25 Moxie to adventure here.)

The correct name is simply "Thugnderdome"; no "the". I've moved it. —Yendor 06:17, 31 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Doing something wrong?

I have spent a lot of adventures here and gotten no flanges or clockwork keys. Are they just super-rare drops? I mean come on, I've even got a 30-pound Attention-Deficit Demon and my zodiac sign is The Packrat ... Am I doing something wrong?? --Gothhenge 22:41, 18 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

  • Yes, they do only drop very sporadically.--Pastamancer5 01:04, 19 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

Substat gains

The listed values for the substat gains are definitely wrong. I don't have enough data to provide definitive answers yet, but I'm getting a consistent 7 substat points for every gnome, and 9 for the gnaugas. (Packrat, non-stat day, no volleyball or sombrero or orange tongue or ice baby.) --Greycat 11:22, 6 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

OK, I've got enough data now to feel confident in my results. It's definitely 7 per gnome, and 9 for the gnauga. That's with 48 or more adventures for every single gnome and gnauga, 100% consistently. --Greycat 14:11, 7 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

"motto for the The Thugnderdome"? --Suraimu 21:38, 22 March 2006 (CST)

Flanges and Keys

After burning over 500 adventures in here with around +200% item drops and Packrat, I've collected 44 flanges but only 7 clockwork keys. Supposedly, both flanges and keys have a 3% chance to drop, but if that were true, I'd have gotten either only 9 flanges or a whopping 35 keys (since there are 5 flange drops, but only 4 key drops). Unless Packrat is creating a bias toward flanges, the statistics may need to be updated... --Quietust 10:56, 23 June 2006 (CDT)

I haven't been keeping close track, but through all my time spent in the dome, I really feel that either the drop rates are much lower than posted, or the drop mechanism is significantly different than it is anywhere else. --Joel 01:40, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

There's no chance the area's immune to item drop increasers, is there? Or at least that flange and key drops are immune? --Joel 01:42, 26 July 2007 (CDT)

I am beginning to believe very strongly that drop increasers actually may have some sort of adverse effect. I'm getting fewer drops overall with all increasers (as noted in the "item increasers" dress for sucess section.) Also, in two full days of about 300 adventures per day, I have seen 2 keys only. Finally, I see a number of turns with no drop whatsoever. On another note, I have been playing with the Annoyotron and wonder if turning it up high (to increase stats while farming) has an adverse effect. I'll keep complete numbers for the next several hundred turns, including my increasers and the Annoyotron. --Hallehoopma 02:59, 14 January 2008 (CST)
