- The line about the fun fact being in another castle is a reference to the famous line from "Super Mario Bros." "Thank you Mario! But our princess is in another castle!" (said by Toad when Mario finishes a castle on all but the final world.)
- Being a vegetarian and her quote are references to the Super Mario Bros. Movie, in which "Princess Daisy" was offered a steak. Her reply was "I'm a vegetarian! I don't eat anything with a face!" which is somewhat ironic because just about every vegetable present in the Mario Bros. games has a face.
