Combat Messages
- Regular messages:
- <name> latches onto your opponent's face with his wriggling tentacles.
- <name> snaps at your opponent with his sharp claws, dealing X (+Y) damage.
- At the end of combat:
- With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
- <name> flips the Tam from one of its claws to the other, then back.
- With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
- <name> slithers in a circle, leaving a trail of ooze around the maypole.
- With wax lips equipped:
- <name> runs his tentacles over the wax lips, leaving little trails of slime behind.
Notes
- The value of X and Y are 1 to floor(weight/2). This is similar to an Imitation Crab, but unlike the crab, X and Y are calculated separately for each attack.
- This familiar attacks about 50% of the time.
- This familiar can delevel an opponent floor(weight/2) levels at the beginning of combat, exactly like a Barrrnacle.

- The familiar is a reference to T.S. Eliot's poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", which contains the famous lines "I should have been a pair of ragged claws / Scuttling across the floors of silent seas."
