You're fighting a knight
You walk up to the knight, whose shield depicts the head of a deadly-looking coiled snake.
"What are you doing here?" he says. "Are you here to impugn the dignity of these maidens? Have at you, then!"
Before you can respond, you're locked in combat. Well, not really locked, so much as... engaged.

He bonks you on the head with the hilt of his sword. Eek! Ooh! Ow! Ow! Oof! Ugh!
He slices open your <lower back> with his swift sword. Ugh! Ooh! Ouch! Ow! Ooh! Eek!
He bashes you in the <lower back> with his shield, leaving the imprint of a snake ear. Eek! Ugh! Ouch! Ow! Ugh! Argh!
The knight bends over and whispers something into the grass. A huge, ghostly black snake emerges from nowhere, slithers up to you, and bites you in the head. It's as horrifying as it is painful. Ooh! Eek! Argh! Ouch! Ooh! Oof! (spooky damage)
He tries to hit you with his sword, but it's neither terrible nor swift enough to do any damage.
He rushes at you with his sword, but you knock his visor closed and he charges into a nearby tree, instead.
He swings his sword at you in a wide arc, but you go off on a tangent and he misses.
The knight rushes toward you, but stops at the last minute and doubles over with laughter. You ask him what's so funny, but he's laughing too hard to answer you.
Occurs at The Haunted Gallery by selecting "The second knight" in the adventure Out in the Garden.
- His "swift sword" and the other reference to his sword being "neither terrible nor swift" are references to lyrics in The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
- The critical hit is a reference to the phrase "a snake in the grass" used to describe a sneaky person. It is also the knight's variation of the Spectral Snapper ability that he can teach to a Turtle Tamer; he prefers serpents to turtles.
- The fact that the knight doubles over laughing is a reference to the Dreams and Lights effect generated by the maidens, and the song Two Knights and Maidens by the Crash Test Dummies.
