Gender Differences

Remember way back when you created your character, and you chose a girl or a guy? Perhaps you wondered what difference it would make. For the most part, it doesn't, but there are some things that can only be done by one gender.

Females Only

• Only females can get the suave Knob Goblin Elite Guardsman and What Would You Do For Some Worthless Crap adventures.
• The loathing eagle baby-doll shirt reportedly only drops for females.
• Females receive a bonus when wearing vinyl boots.
• The gingham blouse and coconut bikini top shirts only drop for females, while the souvenir ski t-shirt seems to be unisex.
• Male clingy pirates will be encountered on the F'c'le.
• Females will double the benefit of the effect Mysteriously Handsome, receiving +6 to monster level.
• Eating ghuol egg quiche will not cause stat loss for female characters.
• Only females can smith a basic meat skirt.

Males Only

• Only males can get the Attractive Sorority Orc adventure.
• Males are penalized for wearing vinyl boots.
• The rhinestone cowboy and floral print shirts only drop for males, while the souvenir ski t-shirt seems to be unisex.
• Female clingy pirates will be encountered on the F'c'le.
• Only males can smith a basic meat kilt.

Miscellaneous

• The Spirit of New Wave will address you differently.
• The A Series of Fortunate Events adventure differs slightly between genders.
• The Return of the Dishwasher adventure also differs slightly between genders.
• The A Test of Testarrrsterone is another adventure that slightly differs between genders.
• Arthur Finn will address you differently depending on your gender.
• The items created from meatsmithing with a skirt / kilt kit are different between genders (males make kilts and females make skirts), except for grass skirt where even males make a skirt. If you make Innabox smith a skirt / kilt kit, he will only smith skirts.
• Depending on the character's gender, most outfits look slightly different.
• Little Brother will address you differently depending on your gender.

Gender Bending

• It is possible to switch genders when ascending.
• There is an adventure in The Sleazy Back Alley that changes your gender.
• There is a trophy associated with switching genders.

Notes

• There are more gender-related things in the Kingdom of Loathing, but not affected by your character's gender:
  • The Calendar of Loathing comes in a girls and a boys edition.
  • The Mr. Store item Ms. Accessory is an accessory that's just as powerful as a Mr. Accessory, but much, much prettier. You cannot trade it into any other items at Mr. Store, though.
