Feeling That You're Being Watched You're fighting the Feeling That You're Being Watched

As you wander around in a goofed-up daze, you suddenly feel like there are eyes behind every wall. And instead of being on the prize, as eyes usually are, these eyes are all on you.

(You may wonder why you can actually attack, with your weapon, a feeling that you're having. Yup, you certainly may wonder that. We won't stop you.)

Hit Message(s):

You poke at the walls, trying to poke all of the eyes. Your fingertips start to bruise... maybe you should just go walk along some darkened corridors. Ugh! Eek!

You cower against a wall, then realize you're being watched from behind that wall, too! You pinball off several walls and collapse in a corner. Argh! Eek!

Critical Hit Message:

Your [sic] freak out and start banging your head on the wall. It doesn't help. Ugh! Argh! Eek! Ow!

Miss Message(s):

You poke at the walls, trying to poke the eyes. You feel their piercing gaze shift away from you to go pierce something else. Yup, even the hawk eyes.

You run around freaking out, but then feel all of the eyes direct their attention elsewhere. *whew!*

Fumble Message:

You get a moment's reprieve as the eyes all blink simultaneously.

References

  • The name of the adventure references both a line spoken by various Looney Tunes characters ("You ever get the feelin'... that you're bein' watched?") and the heightened sense of paranoia often experienced by those under the influence of certain drugs.
  • The first damage message refers to the They Might Be Giants song Fingertips, which contains the lyrics "Fingertips / Fingertips / Fingertips" and "I walk along darkened corridors".
  • The first miss message refers to the M*A*S*H character "Hawkeye" Pierce.
  • "And instead of being on the prize, as eyes usually are" is a reference to the saying "Keep your eyes on the prize."
