When Used

Clmech.gifImage:clmech.gifDeactivated MicroMechaMech
You put the deactivated MicroMechaMech in your Familiar-Gro™ Terrarium.

You activate the MechaMechMech and it fires a tiny laser at your hand, which would be cute if it didn't sting like the dickens. You hastily drop it into the Terrarium, where it stomps around looking for spikey-haired morons to shoot.
HPYou lose 3 hit points.

You decide to name him Tonald.
(If your HP is reduced to zero by the Mech's laser, you receive 4 turns Beaten Up instead of the usual 3.)

Notes

References

  • The item description refers to commercials for the Micro Machines toys, whose tagline, delivered at high speed by NASCAR announcer John Moschitta, was "If it doesn't say Micro Machines, then it's not the real thing."
  • In Final Fantasy 6, a number of short forms were used for items and monsters where in place of a space, separate words would be capitalized. This is the reason for the lines "IfItDoesn'tSayMicroMechaMech, It'sNotTheRealThing!" and the familiar's actual name to be represented in this way.
  • Also in Final Fantasy 6, there is a mecha-like armour known as "Magitek"
  • The "spikey-headed moron" refers to the typical Protagonists in console RPGs.
  • Alternatively, the "spikey-headed moron" could refer to the Protagonists in the Penultimate Fantasy Airship, where the MagiMechTech MechaMech is found.
  • Which are themselves references to the aforementioned typical Protagonists, so it's the same.
